I have been encountering brides to be who are not having a wedding cake and are opting for cupcakes or desert/candy buffets! (although none have contacted me yet ;D)

Is it becoming popular not to have a cake?  I went to a wedding where cake was served as part of the dinner as desert and a candy buffet was offered in the reception.  No one seemed to mind and all were quite happy with the buffet!  Have some of you encountered this as well?

We have had several brides requesting embossed cake boxes for the cupcakes, it is not an unusuall thing as far as I can see at this point .

One requested that we put on the cupcake box " Please Take Me Home With You" the cupcakes needed a good home somewhere else.
We are having a small cake, more for looks...It will be more of a dessert and candy buffet for our reception. It's an evening wedding in July.
Thanks for your input Teri! Congratulations!
We had a cake at our wedding and to be honest with you I didn't eat a bite of it. Our venue had cheesecakes for dessert and I ended up eating one of those instead. If I could go back and redo my wedding just for fun, I'd opt for cupcakes for sure! My sister had a chocolate fountain at her wedding instead of a cake, it was wonderful:)
