Has anyone noticed an increase in the amount of brides considering the use of spotlights and centerpiece lighting to contribute to the mood at their wedding reception?
I always see the spotlights on the centerpieces in the magazine! I can only wish one of my brides has the budget to incorporate these wonderful elements.
Yes it is true that there is a trend but for a few. It is very nice but it costs and in these difficult economic times we are experiencing ... difficult.
When we noticed this trend, we added some standard lighting options to our services as planners and decorators. That allows our brides and other clients to rent these options at a more reasonable price point. That enables them to achieve the mood they want with lighting on the tables and in other areas such as the cake or head table for a fraction of the cost of using a lighting company. We created a beautiful centerpiece using the illuminated vase bases for under $75. Check with local decorators and florists to see if they offer that type of service as well. Here's the centerpiece we did.
We have had tremedous success with our Illuminated Flowers....they creat a magical atmosphere that our brides love.
We designed and created these LED battery operated flower lights in many colors and two sizes. Since a picture is worth more than all words....visit our Photo Album at www.BellaAeris.com to see our inspiring Illuminated Flowers.
Just be sure to recover your out of pocket costs within the first three rentals. That's how I determine my rental prices and so far it has worked out great!
Moonlight Mobile Music has recently added additional lighting effects to our service. Rather than offering only "party lights" for the dance floor, we're also doing perimeter and mood lighting for events. Such lighting adds a truly dramatic and somewhat surreal atmosphere to wedding and other events. Clients and guests love it!

Hello! We have definitely seen an increase in the number of brides who are purchasing floralytes and other types of centerpiece lighting seen below. I think it will pick up for next year as we see a greater trend toward DIY centerpiece and floral decor. See lighting options here:
I offer several lighting options but am amazed at how many brides revert back to the soft glow of string lights. In 2009 with all the weddings we decorated and centrepieces made, not many used the lights for the centrepieces and all but 2 brides wanted the icicle lights and only one wanted uplights. They all thought that the LED lites were too harsh and liked the affect of the old standby of the original lighting.
