I love glitz and glam, perhaps it's my gypsy background but nothing draws more attention to a centerpiece than light. Although I love to showcase a single bloom in an artistic design there is just something soo excellent about a bride's eyes when she sees her wedding lit like a waking dream.

Playing with light in addition to gorgeous flowers and great design keeps the fun in florist work for me. Events are hard work and can be time consuming but I do love to let go and just create something over the top once in awhile. Honestly, on occasion I do cut the profit a tad just for the excitement of making a masterpiece for someone. I'm sure you know how your heart goes out to certain brides.

We have done a couple of weddings in the past with lighting. However it is very important to use the correct lighting with the right flowers because it can very easyly go completely wrong. Make use of a stage building company or lighting specialists, when done correctly it makes a amazing difference to the overall atmosphere of your wedding. We always suggest to brides not only to put a spotlight on the flowers but to rather have softer lighting at strategic points in the reception, etc.

This is an example of a wedding were they used lighting in the ceremony area.

Lighting is the most crucial element to creating the mood of an event. I think it is the one of the most important places to put your money. You can have the most amazing centerpieces on your tables but if you do not light them they don't pop. LIghting done right creates drama and enhances most rooms and the way your gusts experience your party.

One of my brides this past weekend had excessive lighting with lighting boards and a technician.  It was all in lavender and light blue.  It was beautiful but for $3,000 that is a tough sell for many couples.
