Advertise With Us

I am just wondering if any of you use Craigslist to promote your wedding business?  If you do, what is the best category to list under?  Is there a way to promote throughout the US?

I put mine on craigslist but was told by someone else in the bridal forum that i can't advertise there...i would have to place an ad...mind you i did this in Canada so it may be different in the US...
I always keep a few ads running on craigslist. I post them in the gigs section under creative. I just post in select areas, so I'm not sure how to promote throughout the US. Craigslist also limits how many free ads you can post per day.
I appreciate your response and the information on where you list as well....
there are so many free places on the web where brides can locate you other than craigslist. as someone said below the type of brides that are shopping on craigslist will probably not be the kind of client you want.
I appreciate the input. Do you have a few online favorites that are free to list at? I have seen a lot of people mention Wedding Wire. I have recently signed up for that. I am in the process of setting up others. Thanks again...
here are a few free websites where your business can be listed:
webalert.com - merchantcircle.com - weddingzone.com - partyplanner.com - webspace.com - bridalcrate.com - teamwedding.com - getmarried.com - eventective.com
good luck!
Thanks so much for sharing this information. I really do appreciate your time!
Craigslist has been very successful for me as far as my Bridal Consignment shop goes. I list under events and in clothing. It seems to work out fairly well.
Thanks for you input....It's nice to hear if others have been successful and what category they were in.
We have done this in the past. Obviously free advertising is a no-brainer. However, we have never booked a wedding this way. May of the people on Craigslist are looking for a super deals on whatever it is their interested in. I think it caters more towards the DIY crowd who was taught by websites like The Knot to do research in these types of forums.
I appreciate your insight.....You are probably right. I feel it has changed a lot in the last few years....I seem to get more spam than anything....
I agree as to Craig's list....probably not the kind of client you want, they are all looking for cheap. You get what you pay for analogy and those people want the moon for no money. Also...everytime, it seems, one puts an advertisement up you get more spammers coming back than you do with people who actually want and are looking for what you have...whether it's business or just personal selling of something. Someone somewhere might get good results with Craig's List but they are few and far between, I think. Good luck.
