why is it mandatory to include your own handle

In the format example, I can see if you wanted to always include @bridaltweet for marketing purposes... but including your OWN handle is redundant, especially on a network like twitter known for brevity and efficiency 

once its retweeted, people can see where it originated - what am i missing...
