I am a wedding planner and was thinking of trying to start some type of affiliate marketing program. I searched the internet to see if there are any rules or regulations about this out there but can't find any. What I am thinking is seeing if any of the vendors I use regularly (cake vendors, photographers, etc.) would want to be an "affiliate" and for each person they refer to me that books me I would give them a 10% commision or something.
Has anyone done anything like this or have any suggestions?
What I do is offer a set amount commission for each package that I have. I think it is an effective way of generating leads and I don't think there are any regulations on it. The only thing I can think of is the vendors would have to claim that money on their income taxes. Hope that helps!
