With the money as tight as it is in this terrible economy, I've been getting lots of requests for small, private wedding ceremonies. To fill that need, I'm introducing a low-cost, "No Frills" Wedding Service, which includes just the bare minimum necessary for a legal wedding:

* Exchange simple "I do's" (the minimum required by law) before the officiant
and your 2 witnesses

* Signing and filing of marriage license by the officiant

The fee for this service is $175.00 (plus travel fees if the ceremony location is more than 30 minutes drive from West Collingswood, NJ 08107).

Please share this information with any of your clients who may be interested in this type of service. Thank you!

Thanks Michelle- I pretty much post on facebook just about everyday and that also connects me with twitter (@BrandisBridal). I post on my blog just about every week about new products, specials, ideas, etc.. As far as free listings a have a few but some require a link back. I am working on how to do that with my new and improved website. I haven't done any bridal shows as my products are dropshipped so I don't have products to show other than my website. Thanks for your thoughts/suggestions.

I am seeing a lots of the accessories and gifts being purchased by other family members rather then the bride and groom as their wedding gift to the couple. Mother-in-laws buying the wedding favors. An aunt purchasing the gifts for the bridal party. Family members are figuring out the bride and groom don't need another toaster as much as they need help with cutting down wedding cost.

Well, Judy Arnold, I think you are on the right track to getting brides to notice your business and start drawing them to your website. Have you done any bridal shows? How often do you update your blog and your social networking? Have you posted your company info on sites that allow free listings? Just a few thoughts/suggestions.

What is the best way to get connected with brides? My website www.brandisbridalboutique.com offers affordable wedding supplies and bridal accessories that compliment all weddings and receptions. We are a fairly new business, just a little over a year in operation. We are trying very hard to get the word out about our business with social networking, blogging, connecting with wedding vendors, etc.. Can someone give me some advice about how I can attract brides to my website?? Thanks so much!!

Most brides who call us are researching many coordinators before choosing one. We also find that they want to ask many questions about vendors and sometimes wanting to go direct to book. The reason why we prefer they stay with us (beyond commission) is because we KNOW these vendors well, they know us and we work very well together which is a big advantage for the wedding couple. Having everything run smoothly because vendors and coordinators team up is extremely important and in the long run can still save the money and much stress! :) Most vendors that I use have worked with us for over 6 years now!

I've personally noticed that brides aren't booking their entertainment until about 3 to 6 months in advance. I try to accommodate them as much as possible in such a short amount of time. I wish that they were prepared to book far in advance so that I could form a personal relationship with them.

I am seeing that brides are wanting engagement photos and save the dates taken care of first and then waiting till closer to their wedding day to choose other vendors. I think early engagement sessions are wonderful because then that gives me over a year to get to know the bride and groom and then on the day of their wedding they are super comfortable around me, which is most important!

I have definitely noticed that brides are expecting more for less. They are being very choosy and in some cases are even willing to sacrifice quality for price. I offer my clients a lot of "extras" in addition to the photography itself. We are also finding that brides are becoming last-minute wedding planners and this has led to disappointment. My advice to brides...it's the most special day of your life, don't settle for second best, there can be a balance between your budget and your dreams!

We're finding a lot of brides are waiting until the last minute to book vendors. Many times this ends in disappointment. Couples need to start early with the planning process to avoid missing out on the best vendors. Working with a seasoned planner can help these couples find professional vendors within their budget.
