But forget about the "typical" uses for candlesticks if just for a moment, and let your imagination…

Thinking about Selling? What To Know Before You Even Wear Your Wedding Dress

Sell Wedding Dress

1.  ASK Questions - When you purchase your gown, make sure you ask the salon/ seller for all of the pertinent information.  In order to sell your gown you will need to know the designer's style number/name (not the salon issued style number), the collection season and year, and the retail price.  In addition, if  you are purchasing a pre-owned wedding dress, ask if the… Continue

Lauren & John | Historic Franklin, TN

Nine and a half years ago Lauren and John saw their first love story together at the movies. On July 9th, they added to their own. Lauren was completely glowing all day as she prepared to see John for the first time. A few weeks before the wedding they decided they wanted to do a first look so they could go straight to the reception afterwards. As she walked out to meet him in the alley of The Factory her eyes…

The Top 5 To-Do's Before Planning Your I Do's

1. Set realistic expectations

First and foremost the bride and groom should sit down and discuss their individual visions for the wedding. Secondly, all parties who are contributing to the cost of the event should have some say in the plans. But that doesn't mean they get to run the show. It's best to discuss each person's role before beginning the planning process. Compromise may be necessary to resolve differences but the bride and groom should never have to bow to every demand.… Continue

A Mess the Dress behind bars!

One of the coolest museums in Philly is Eastern State Penitentiary. You may remember that Al and I went there this year for Valentines Day- I wrote a post about it in Feb. It is such a beautiful and creepy place at the same time. I was so Excited when Marybeth and Tim decided to do a Mess-the-Dress-Session there. How cool was that!!! Al and I met with an employee and they gave us a tour of all the "closed areas". This way we could decide what areas we… Continue

Wedding Handkerchiefs!

I love handkerchiefs. I love the whimsy of them, the subtly femininity of them and the vintage nostalgia associated with them. At my wedding I used them as napkins. We had vowed to be as sustainable as possible and i had the thought that I could kill two birds with one stone by making the "necessities" like glassware and napkins double as favors. I'm guessing the guests caught on quick because at the end of the night, there weren't very many napkins to be found…
