Greetings from Happily Ever After Boutique,

I thought I'd carry on my theme from my last blog on Famous & Iconic Wedding Dresses. Seeing how Autumn is here and Halloween is right around the corner, I thought it would be a "treat" to feature famous movie wedding gown costumes. These gowns were worn in famous films such as Frankenstein, Emma and Howards End. I hope you enjoy these beautiful creations representing the 18th century period to our present day.  I have a few favorites, but I'd say that the Givenchy dress worn in Sabrina has won my heart with The Duchess gown running a close second. What's your favorite pick? I would love to hear from you. Please give me feedback on your favorite movie wedding gowns.  Thanks and Enjoy!

Next are actual wedding gowns that were on exhibit in Troy, Michigan at a shopping mall.  They were worn by actresses like Kiera Knightly and Gwyneth Paltrow! How cool is that?!

Here's a little about the dresses in the exhibit:

"The dresses in this exhibition were all designed and made for the screen but adhere closely to the period they are set in. The costumes also reflect the personalities of each character and that character's role in the story. Most of the costumes follow the tradition of white weddings. Note how the dresses particularly rely on contrasts of fabric, texture, pattern, and nuances of tone for their decorative effects. The off white color of most of the dresses is period correct before the invention of bleach and optical brighteners. Very white fabrics however would glare out under the lights used in filming so even modern dresses would be made slightly off white."
