We’ve all heard those wedding horror stories – wardrobe malfunctions, falls, or even the odd runaway groom. Unfortunately wedding emergencies do happen. Here’s a list of tips to help save the day when something goes wrong. Yes Maid of Honour we’re looking at you…

Wardrobe

The most common emergency is the “wardrobe malfunction”. Most likely just a small tear here or there. It’s not often that you’ll hear of entire dresses tearing away leaving you exposed in front of friends and family – but it’s best to be prepared. On the day carry:

  • An extra pair of pantyhose
  • A needle, thread, and some safety pins
  • Hollywood tape
  • Stick on instant hemming tape
  • Clear nail polish – helpful for stocking runs
  • White chalk – for masking stains

Bits and bobs

The best type of Maid of Honour is like a boy scout – always prepared and always helpful. To earn your badge ensure you are prepared with those oh-so-useful things everyone seems to want on the day, but no one ever has:

  • Band-aids
  • Tissues – for if someone starts to tear up
  • Pain killers – for those unexpected headaches
  • Hairspray – to save a bad hair day
  • Box of crackers – there is not always much time to eat on the day of the wedding
  • Breath mints or a travel toothbrush
  • Makeup – for those quick touch ups
  • Camera – for taking getting dressed candids
  • Wristwatch – we don’t want to be late!
  • Small mirror
  • Party Feet inserts for shoes

With a little preparation and planning, those unforseen wedding emergencies will seem simply like a speed bump in the road – inconvenient, but we get over it.
