Hello my lovelies! so how was your weekend?, it’s funny how those two precious days off can just whiz by! I mean how is it already Tuesday?! I always find myself so discombobulated (phew thats my ‘big word’ for the day out of the way lol) on a Monday. It’s only on a Tuesday that I feel that I’ve regained by balance and sense of where I am work wise and hey this touch of sunshine always helps! and I do mean ‘touch of sunshine’ because gods know you can blink in London and miss the sun! lol but hey! I’m not going to complain about having a spot of good weather- the words gift, horse and mouth come to mind!

Anyway enough with my ramblings, let’s get back on track! so as you know, MAJOR things are happening at the Stylish Events camp, if you happened to read last weeks ‘New Flash’ post, then you know all about it….if you didn’t SHAME on you! I suggest you head back right now and catch up on the company gossip ASAP! lol ok ok, I wont make you do that, I’ll just tell you all about – again! lol Right so aside from having two client weddings coming up in August and September, me and the Stylish Events gals will be exhibiting at the Exceptional Events ‘Hammersmith and Fulham Town Hall Wedding Fayre’ on the 30th June! it will be on from 10am-3:30pm, admission is  only £2.50 per person -so a nice recession friendly price! lol it’s set to be a lovely day, with plenty of fab wedding suppliers and even a bridal fashion show – which me and Dominique will be giving a talk at! and if you do come (something I strongly urge you to do of course) make sure you swing over to the Stylish Events stand and come say hello to me, Dominique and the Stylish Events crew ;-) and hey if you come early, you may even be able to book yourself a little slot with yours truly, to get a FAB nail art manicure! yep I will be there offering my nail art talents, to all brides in the form a 10 min mani! ;-)

As well as exhibiting at Wedding Fayre’s we will also have the our very first (of many we hope) Bridal Workshop – aptly titled: “PLAN YOUR WEDDING LIKE A WEDDING PLANNER” the name pretty much says it all; it’s a one day workshop where me and Dominique will be providing a step-by-step guide on everything you need to know to organise your perfect wedding – just like a wedding planner! The workshop is sponsered and hosted by luxury 5* hotel; ‘The Four Seasons London at Canary Wharf,’ where our brides will be given a guided tour of this stylish and intimate hotel, which has a stunning art nouveau style ballroom, perfect for the modern bride! AND – yep there’s more – we have secured two guest speakers who will be offering our brides their expert advice and knowledge:

  • Charlotte Garratt, a top London Bridal Designer will be discussing how to find the perfect dress and showcasing her beautiful bespoke creations.!
  • Paula Broome, a young, fresh and vibrant London wedding Photographer will be explaining techniques and photography fees and packages.

Paula is always such a joy to work with and I really do love her attention to detail in her work! it’s always nice to have a photographer who can capture the details that most people would over look, I mean the attention is in the detail right? anyway let me hush and hand it over to Paula:

So, how did you originally get into photography?”

“I have a huge passion for travel and spent my twenties galavanting and living abroad. I used photography to document my travels and one Christmas, when we were living in Taiwan, my now husband bought me my first SLR. Camera. Fast forward to me have a ‘turning thirty crisis’ and thinking about careers and my future. That’s when I knew I wanted to turn this hobby into a profession.  A friend asked me to photograph her wedding around that time and it took off from there.”

What do you feel makes you and your work stand out in the photography crowd?:

“That’s a tough one as there are now so many photographers out there and so many great ones! I would say my love of people, if that doesn’t sound too cheesy? ! I want to know everything about my clients and always try to get to know them as much as possible before their big day. Like attracts like and I seem to become friends with all my couples!”

Have you noticed a change in the style or type of shots that your couples are requesting for their weddings?:

“Ooh, good question! There are definitely trends in weddings. The vintage thing is huge at the moment, but I can see the cupcakes and bunting trend not staying around forever. As far as the photography goes though I think there will always be set categories: reportage, formal, documentary etc.”

What’s has been the most memorable wedding you have worked on?:

“My first wedding was obviously most memorable, because I was absolutely terrrified! It’s a huge responsibility and I still get nervous now. Apart from that though I would say it was a wedding I shot in Pembrokeshire in Wales. It was in a secluded cove in a small hotel called Druidstone which had phenomenal views and was so quaintly decorated. It was just immediate family and me and we did the couple shots on the beach with their dog, Alfie. It’s amazing when people value photography enough to include you in something so intimate. It was a very emotional day.”

What aspect of your job do you love most and why?:

“Meeting people! Definitely. I’ve never had a couple I didn’t like because I think my relaxed style attracts those kind of people too and more often than not we’re into the same kind of music and films and fashion too ,so I’ve made some great friends. I also love to travel round the country.”

Well I hoped you enjoyed all the beautiful photo’s in todays post, I know I did ;-) I’ve always admired talented photographers like Paula and their ability to be able to capture those special moments, freeze framing your big day in time forever! Make sure you enjoy the rest of your week and come back soon for another  FAB ‘Supplier of the Week’ post from me and I’ll be bring your some sizzling summer bridal inspiration! Until then…..

Stay Blessed and we’ll speak again soon.
