Direction Cards / Map Cards

Have you considered whether you should include direction cards or map cards with your wedding invitations as a convenience to your guests?

Some reasons to include them could be:

• Inviting out-of-town guests who aren’t familiar with the local area surrounding your ceremony and reception sites.
• Having your wedding at an out-of-town location.
• Holding your wedding reception at a site that is a distance from the ceremony locale.

There are choices in that you can simply have direction cards or map cards printed OR you can combine both into one card having a map printed on one side and directions printed on the other side for extra clarity. It will be up to you to provide your printer with the specific directions and either a hand-drawn or computer-created map if that will be also be included.

These cards are inserted with your wedding invitations just as a reception card might be and are typically printed on white or ecru paper stock. Although there are now direction/map cards to match some wedding invitation designs.

Including map and/or direction cards with your wedding invitations can eliminate frustration for your guests by providing them with accurate and concise directions to the ceremony, reception or both if they are unfamiliar with the area.
