How to get the best skin of your life before your wedding

Everyone wants to look their best on their wedding day. Even if you’re not planning a fairytale wedding, you will still want to make sure you look picture-perfect on the day. While makeup will be a big part of this, ask any makeup artist and they will tell you that a good canvas is essential to perfecting your look. Taking good care of your skin on the run up to your wedding will ensure that your makeup stays flawless throughout the day and could even mean that you can get away with a more bare-faced makeup look. If you’re getting married anywhere warm, the possibility of stripping back your makeup will likely be a welcome option…

Modify your diet

The condition of your skin is simply a reflection of your inner health, so make sure you are drinking plenty of water and loading up of organic fruit and veg on the run up to your wedding. Some people find that cutting out dairy solves a lot of their skin problems, and for others, caffeine is the culprit. Figure out what works for you and then stick to it!

Watch the sun

Although you may be cramming in a few more sunbed sessions on the run up to your wedding, it’s important to make sure your skin stays hydrated. Follow up any sunbed session with a deeply hydrating skin mask and make sure you are wearing sufficient SPF every day to prevent further sun damage.

Treat yo self!

Getting a facial a few weeks before the wedding and then another a few days before the wedding isn’t at all excessive! The first one will help your dermatologist to assess the state of your skin and advise you on the next steps to take, while the second one will ensure your skin is clear of any impurities before the big day.

Stagger your treatments

If you plan to have any dermal fillers, it’s best to have these done a few weeks before the big day to give them a chance to settle. You might also want to consider an innovative treatment like a vampire facelift or milk peel to help revive your skin before the big day.
