Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

We have been having real wacky or should I say “unusual” weather for winter 2014.   I don’t think I would be making a  massive leap or speaking out of turn to say that just about every bride and groom would want their wedding to take place on a bright sunny day, with not a cloud in the sky.

But as a photographer, I’m here to tell you that believe it or not, sunny days are not the ultimate condition for quality photographs.  In fact a little cloud cover would be preferable because the cloud cover acts like a giant softbox. You don’t get harsh shadows and colors pop off the page. So even if the weather takes a turn for the worst, you can still capture some truly great outdoor photos.  I just make it a backdrop and part of your photo session or wedding day story.  It is not the central or main character but part of the story.

So you might not have the most perfect day, in terms of weather, for your photos, but chillax, you can still get great pictures!!!
