The 7 Best Wedding Dress Style Trends for 2015

If you scroll through printed or online bridal and even fashion publications you are sure to find a variety of style prediction and trend articles compiled from the bridal show runways.

Generally, each article will have its own spin on what they believe are the best predictions or trends.

So, we’ve taken it to the next level and compiled the common predictions and trends from some of the top internationally recognised bridal publications. We’ve sourced the best from Style Me Pretty, Weddingbells, Brides, Bridal Guide, The Knot and Confetti.

Here are the 7 top trends that are common amongst these publications.

1. Cap Sleeves, Caplets & Capes

Whether it’s a cape, caplet of a dress with cap sleeves, this trend gives a classic strapless an unexpected twist. An embroidered or lace design illusion adds a feminine touch and provides coverage with a serious fashion upgrade!

2. Soft Pastels

Whilst pink and blush dresses were a top trend for 2014, the New Year brings new colours from the pastel palate. These soft pastels add a subtle pop of colour and a beautiful twist to the traditional bridal styles.

3. Long Sleeves

No longer exclusive to traditional celebrations, long-sleeved wedding dresses can make a serious style statement. And many constructed with lace are anything but boring.

4. Cropped Tops

The crop top has found its way into bridal fashion with two-piece ensembles and whilst it isn’t a traditional design, it can still be worn elegantly.

5. Deep V-Necklines

These deep v-necklines were literally everywhere on the runways and often combined other top trends such as soft pastels, long sleeves or light-as-air skirts.

6. Light-As-Air Skirts

From billowy ball skirts, to overlays, and added layers of tulle and silk, breezy fabrics have been used to create a more relaxed silhouette.

7. Naked Lace Details

The gowns create an utterly romantic and soft look, using lace set on a nude underlay to give a nearly ‘naked’ look.
