If that’s not your cup of tea, you can always try something new and unconventional by introducing adrenaline packed sports and adventures. From warm destinations with water sports to cold mountain idylls, there’s something for every couple. These can be equally romantic and you can create unforgettable memories and experiences.
Iceland has over a hundred volcanoes, both active and inactive. All these are perfect for new adventures, since you can join many tours and explore volcano craters. One of the world-famous volcanoes is Eyjafjallajökull volcano situated in south Iceland which erupted in 2010. Still, years later, if you go on a hike, you can feel the warmth of the ground, and if you dig a little deeper, you can warm up your sandwich. Another amazing adventure is visiting Þríhnúkagígur volcano and actually going inside it.
North shore of Kauai is surrounded by tall cliffs with cascading waterfalls. If you’re ambitious honeymooners, you can go on a morning 22-mile hike on Kalalau Trail. Halfway through the hike, an overnight camping is arranged to give you a full romantic experience of the mesmerizing Hanalei Bay. However, if you’re less eager to go on long hikes, you can go on a short one on the Hanakapi’ai Beach and meet the monk seals on the coast.
Newlyweds who adore water sports should not miss out on the chance to visit Australia. There is something for everyone, from snorkeling to surfing. However, if you’re not an expert on surfing, you can always try paddleboarding, which is equally satisfying and fun. For this and many other water sports, you can hire an instructor and rent the gear; or you can go for an amazing souvenir and get your own board in many stores such as Natural Necessity along the NSW coast.
The land of thousand hills will offer you plenty of stunning landscapes, gardens and tea plantations. Besides these magical views you can go on an expedition through the rainforest and look for the amazing silverback gorillas. Join the tour in the Volcanoes National park, come close to a gorilla family and watch them play and look for delicious treats.
Years of erosion have formed many beautiful rock pools along the Victoria Falls in Zambia. One of them is called Devil’s Pools which can become your own infinity pool. There are many experienced guides which can lead you to the Pool and swim the Zambezi River in order to reach the edge. Here, you can experience exhilarating views and deafening sounds of “The Smoke that Thunders” sprays.
Apart from being romantic, Italy can be an adventurous place. Dolomites are certainly the best place for adrenalin junkies and ski enthusiasts. The favorite honeymoon spot is a small village of San Cassiano, which is near the Dolomiti Superski area. This area includes 800 miles of slopes, as well as Marmolada glacier, excellent restaurants and luxury hotels.
You don’t have to be a traditional couple that lies around the beach during the whole honeymoon. Leave your comfort zone and go on thrilling adventures in some of these locations.
