Women have especially been very particular about their wedding dresses. There are a lot of areas that need consideration when a bride picks up her wedding attire. The first and foremost is the color of the dress. The dress must be of such that it complements the bride. Fair brides can choose a color which is relatively darker in shade and wheatish brides can pick lighter shades. The darker colors in the Indian wedding outfit segment comprise of red, brown, pink, purple, royal blue etc. In the lighter segment the colors include, cream, peach, lighter shades of blue etc.

These colors can be preferred over a variety of outfits that include sarees, lehengas, salwar kameez etc. The saree has been the best choice for women at weddings throughout history. It reflects the culture of the Indian weddings. This costume has been the number one choice for women for almost every part of the country. However the design and style of the Indian Saree may vary from one region to another. These styles include Benarasi in northern-India to Kanchipuram in southern-India.

Men find their wedding attire to come in the form of sherwani and designer suits. The sherwani has undoubtedly been the most preferred option of all. It comes in different colors and is customized to fit the groom perfectly. It can be worn with a turban and traditional shoes that give the dress a complete look. Men also find kurta pyjama relatively appealing at weddings. Designer kurtas come with embroidered patterns and art-work to give it an exquisite look.
