Hello! I am working on our business plan for 2010 (we just started up summer of '09) and am struggling finding specific information on the brides in my area. I have national and really vague local statistics from sites such as The Wedding Report, but I can't seem to find statistics that are more regionally-based. I'm looking for things like average age of my local bride, number of local brides broken down by month, etc. Where do you get your information and stats on local brides? Thanks in advance for your help!

Congrats Liane on your launch AND writing a business plan. Very impressive and will go a long way to building your success. Folks who fail to plan, plan to fail!

Off the top of my head two resources come to mind. One, your local business library. Here in Boston, our library has a business development librarian who is charged with helping small business owners. She can help you find facts and teach you to use the library's resources. Also, I think there's a site called Ask a Research Librarian out there somewhere.

Second, I'm pretty sure the Library of Congress has a report on weddings that could be helpful. And, hey why not check with the licence bureau; surely, they'll know how many licenses they average by month. Good luck! Dina
Thanks so much for the insight- I don't know why I didn't think of the library sooner!! I worked at one throughout high school, and that's definitely a great place to go for any kind of research. I will definitely check that out here in Buffalo, thanks again!
Glad that works for you. More heads are better than 1!
