I was reading another post and was reminded of this question... do you allow brides to take pictures of items?  I offer wedding stationery and while I understand that it is the age of technology; it sometimes 'irks' me when a bride pulls out her phone and starts snapping pictures.  I like to think they are taking the snapshots to show to their fiances or families...but sometimes, I wonder...

What are your general thoughts on this?

I won't allow any pictures of anything at all. They can buy a sample, or look at pictures I have already on the web.
It doesn't bother me. I'm confident in the product that I provide. Honestly, sometimes they are just taking pictures so that that they can remember things, it might not be as bad as we think. That's the "rosey" colored glasses of mine. If they go somewhere else for a better price, all the better for me, I will not compromise quality for price and I'm still just getting started out so I really don't have room to turn down business. LOL
I have many brides come to me with images of gowns they have seen. Even with them in it! However, I always say, "I don't copy" I don't think it's fair and I don't think it's professional. I know how hard people work designing and manufacturing.
What I do give my clients is a "inspirational vision" Something that makes it unique so in actual fact, they get an original. You ask them how they would feel if someone wanted to "copy" their dress? Their reply? "You wouldn't make this for anyone else would you? This is MY dress." My answer? "No, I wouldn't"
