Personally there are so many positives it is hard to come up with a negative about weddings or couples getting married.  In my experience, I have enjoyed the tremendous opportunity of working with nice people trying to create the most beautiful day in their lives.

To be able to help in regards to price and offer suggestions to make their dream come true is very rewarding.  Getting involved with the families and friends also brings many benefits.  You make and increase your contacts every day.  As far as I'm concerned, everything is wonderful about weddings.

Linda - Thanks for starting this great discussion. I just tweeted it to my followers. I personally find it very rewarding to connect and network with wedding vendors. They are such a warm, generous and collaborative bunch. It makes my job as this community's organizer to be very satisfying. I also love that the wedding business is constantly changing. It is creative, innovative and dynamic. I love staying up on the latest trends and styles. Weddings are one of the most exciting times in a couple's life and it is amazing to be a part of that. Such a happy concept. - Christine
Thank you, Christine. It is also wonderful to learn about the many different varieties of customs, traditions and cultures related to weddings. Each country and culture brings many positive experiences to the table. All the Best - Linda Lewis
Love is always in style. I love to see when two people truly love eachother. It's inspiring within itself. Capturing that love on film and editing their special day so that they can remember it just the way it was, as special as they planned it, is so rewarding. Watching the couple show their style through their wedding is so much fun. And even more fun to edit it. Weddings are beautiful! It's fun to be a part of that beauty and add to it.
It's something about seeing your vision come to life. No one really sees the rough draft and behind the scenes hustle and bustle, but the finished product and the opportunity to make the moment that much special is what we've grown to love.
I truly can say I love everything about the Wedding Business!! I love the research, I love meeting new vendors, I love learning about the new trends and creating your own style within all the trends that are being created! I love meeting a bride and groom who are truly in love and allows you to do your job as their Wedding Planner!! Most of all I love the day of the wedding, seeing all the hard-work and dedicated time pay off all in this one day, that goes by so quickly. I love when the bride tells you "your the best thing that has happened to her during this process"..all of the little details make this job so worth it!! I love being able to give those couples who don't have a massive budget the wedding they couldn't even dream of!! I truly just love my job and can't wait until I can do it full time!!!!

I love that every wedding is unique to each couple that make it special. It is such an honor to be part of that special day. There is always something new to learn. I love staying up on the latest trends and styles and continuosly being able to learn new things and ideas everyday. The appreciation that the couple and their families show is priceless.
Being a part of something very special, shared between two people is what I love. To think that I can play a part in memorializing a unique bond between two people. It gives me "goose bumps". It's difficult to describe the feeling one gets when standing before two individuals in love, ready to start their lives as one. Aristotle once said, "Love is a single soul inhabiting two bodies." I believe that and to be able to a wedding professional allows me to practice that belief in a special way.

Leo Buscaglia once said, "Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life. I'm blessed to say that I haven't missed life. I get to see it play-out at each beautiful wedding however large or small because the one component is love.

Then, to connect with other wedding professionals, establish relationships that benefits our brides and grooms is fantastic. What an industry. Where else can you meet good people, work with professionals to crease something special and unique and play a part in joining two into one love.
For me, being a wedding videographer for 20 years, no two weddings are the same. They may be similar in structure for the day, but with various people, locations, personalities, styles, and highlights, it's never boring. Not all weddings I am glad to be involved with (10% I could just roll my eyes saying "Why did I get involved with this one wedding?"). 90% have been a great experience, and it is always a learning experience. It is a snowball effect giving me ideas that i can always use for the next wedding, and so on.

Recently, the big thing I love now is hi-def video, showcasing my work in much sharper detail, giving clients and potential clients even more of a "wow" factor.
I love the excitement of a dance floor alive with happy people having a great time. After more than 20+ years as a full-time DJ with Moonlight Mobile Music, I still consider each and every event a challenge. It's a challenge for me to determine what music and activities will motivate the particular audience I have at any given event. At our previous wedding, we had some folks in attendance from the New Orleans/South Louisiana area, so we had a "second line" dance, celebrated with "When The Saints Go Marching' In", slow danced to "New Orleans Lady", and gave out Mardi Gras beads. It was a great thrill for me when guests came up after the reception to tell me they enjoyed the music and appreciated the mix of songs which gave everyone, young and old, a chance to get on the dance floor. In some ways, the pay I receive is secondary to the satisfaction of having a very happy client.
What's not to love about the wedding business. As a venue for these events, The National Hotel prides itself in providing an atmosphere that enhances the bridal couple's experience. I think most businesses do their best to do this, if they truly care about the couple--and from what I can tell, if you're in this business, you care. Ultimately, it's the couple that sets the tone. Our job is to make sure that we cater to their needs, that we listen, above everything else, to what they want, so that we can try to make sure that we deliver an event that will be filled with food that will be memorable, the right lighting, the right space for their music, signature drinks that will make the guests feel welcome, and hotel accommodations that will allow the bridal party to relax, to enjoy, to feel like all the details are coming together. Helping to manage stress levels and exceed expectations for that "wow" factor, keep us looking forward to the next wedding we'll host. There is so much joy surrounding this day, that it truly becomes our special day too.
