Many couples plan the details of their wedding and pay very little attention to the musical input for the occasion. Live musicians add soul and warmth to such an event, and the couple will enjoy the day even more if their favorites are played on their special day.

You are absolutely correct. Music at the ceremony is especially important. It sets the ambience for the entire day as guests enter the ceremony site. I've seen some couples trying to use iPod music stead of live. It's nearly impossible to time recorded music to the event the way a live musician can time things. Music is the one of the strongest memories of an event people will take with them. They'll remember that they were fed but won't remember what they ate. They'll remember there were flowers but not the kind of flowers. They'll always remember beautiful music.
Absolutely correct! Live musicians are wonderful, as are DJ's

Most important about considering your DJ is that you make sure the DJ is getting tons of input regarding not only YOUR likes and wants, but those of your guests as well.

I personally as all my clients to provide 10-15 "Must-Play" selections, 10-15 "Play-if-Possible" selections, and just as importantly, if not more-so - any "No-Play!" selections.

Musical programming is very important, and whether it's live musicians or a DJ, each couple should invest time time needed to customize their musical programming. And if they are hiring a DJ, that individual should be doing it for them with their input, and the process should be not only hassle-free, but FUN!
