This is something that bugs me the more I think about it. It seems unprofessional to me. I hear of wedding vendors who will tell their clients, "Don't hire a Wedding Coordinator, we will do all of that for you! Save your money!" More often than not, this "coordination" is just giving a bride and groom a list of names or places. Let's call it what it is. It's a Venue/Vendor Search Program and not Wedding Coordination. More often than not, this "coordination" is just giving a bride and groom a list of names or places. Let's call it what it is. It's a Venue/Vendor Search Program and not Wedding Coordination. It's takes 16-20 vendors for an average, not-many-frills wedding and most of them aren't even at the wedding or reception itself.

In my opinion, a true Coordinator explores in depth what their client's personality, style and budget are. Along with this we want to learn the family dynamics, the couple's journey from how they met to how they got engaged and how they want to remember their wedding as well as their guests. I don't just give clients vendor recommendations unless again, they match their personality, style and budget!

I would love to hear what other Wedding Coordinators think about this. What do you think is a solution? Do you even think it's a problem?
What Has Been Your Most out of the Box Marketing Approach?tag:www.bridaltweet.com,2011-08-11:3145964:Topic:4121242011-08-11T07:51:20.521ZJanis Flagghttps://www.bridaltweet.com/profile/JanisFlagg
In my region, I have found that most attendees at bridal shows tend to be the type of bride who doesn't feel a need for a Wedding Coordinator. I'm thinking of having a booth at the annual Women's Show which is huge and geared towards busy professional women. Curious as to what some of you who are wedding coordinators have tried with 'out of the box" approaches to marketing.

I have watched on several bridal TV shows, read blogs, pertaining to coordinators pulling in favors from other vendors for last minute changes due to some unseen circumstances! I want to know how do you as a coordinator obtain these favors? Are these vendors you work with exclusively, and how do you collect favors from vendors? Any advice on how too go about that?
Thank You In Advance,
I'm currently researching wedding planning software and I'm at a cross between I Do Wedding software AND Wedding Management for Professionals software. Has anyone used either one of these softwares? If so, let me know what your experiences were.
