Hello, new here, I signed up in order to ask this question: these days it seems like, due to the economy perhaps, more brides are planning outdoor weddings without backup indoor alternatives. They just think it won't rain or it won't be too hot or too cold. We have decided we don't want to be doing outdoor weddings when the temperature is over 90 degrees or under 57 degrees. What do other musicians do in this situation? What does your contract say about temperature? And if it is just too hot…

I would like to hear from wedding videographers around the world and ask them how they deal with the thorny issue of music copyright. I hear that Brides, and Grooms for that matter, often ask for their favourite song to be included in their wedding video. Assuming that you all do it legally, I'd like to ask you some questions about this and I'd be grateful for your input into the discussion.

1) How much do you pay for the licensing of famous songs that are special to the couple

2) How much do you pay for the licensing of songs that are not famous but work well for weddings.

3) How often have you used a specially written song about the couple.

4) How much have you paid or would you expect to pay for a custom written song.

5) If you could get a custom written song for not much more money than the other options, how often do you think that you would use it.

Thank you very much for your input and feel free to check out my services on my profile.

Mike The Minstrel
DJ vs. Band and how to find the best!tag:www.bridaltweet.com,2010-04-13:3145964:Topic:1635782010-04-13T19:37:51.201ZKristen Blankenshiphttps://www.bridaltweet.com/profile/KristenBlankenship

Hi all,

I'm still struggling with the DJ vs Band debate. I would prefer a band, but can't find one that I really like! Does anyone have any advice on the best place to find good bands/DJs. I would ask friends and family but none of my friends or family are familiar with my wedding location: Asheville, NC. I would be willing to pay travel fees for the right band/DJ - it's important to me.

Thanks for your thoughts!
