Fav. Moments- ALL of it!! We loved this Super Chill, Super FUN wedding!! Rebecca and Brian are just so Sweet and LOVED her dress from Dolly Couture!! Loved the cocktail style reception with lots of Awesome food that was available through out the entire evening. and the biggest twist to add to the fun–The mix of DJ music and the guests doing Karaoke!! And the guests still danced all night no matter who was singing!! The couple each sang a song to each other and during the ceremony sang a song together- How COOl is that!! I also LOVED LOVED all the florals- the use of greens and branches and logs really added to the space. There is already so much going on in there that this was the Perfect touch and Rebecca’s bouquet was Gorgeous!! also loved that they didn’t have a bridal party but a friend was an awesome MC!

Now I LOVE all our clients and love the specific details they pick out to represent their own styles. But Daniel and Sauces' BIG day was just such the perfect match to EVERYTHING I Love!!! As anyone who has ever been to our house knows- I just Love all things vintage. and while I wish I was a great DIY'er- I'm not- but I am damn good at finding those who are- usually thanks to Etsy.
You first met this adorable couple when I featured their e-Session at Reading Terminal and Franklin Square last Fall. I took all those fun shots with the mini Philly hotspots at the mini golf course in the park. Well these photos were used to identify all the table names for the guests. I just love when my photos get incorporated into the wedding day!
Daniel and Sauce were married at the perfect location for a vintage flair event- the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. I mean it has a carousel in the room they held their reception- how CUTE is that!!! With their Cocktail hour was in the Alice and wonderland display. (and Alice is my FAVORITE!!!) and the food was off the hook- It was so sweet to have a vendor table where we had the same food as the guests and even got one of the Love cookies too!!

Before their vows we did a first-see (my Favorite thing) and then played all around the museum getting some fun shots. Their ceremony was also held there. and let me tell you- I was trying to shoot as I was wiping away my tears. Their ceremony was so touching- a perfectly sweet, funny representation of their love for each other. Where one minute you were crying, the next laughing! One of my favorite things was when the guests entered the reception area and saw there was a real working carousel- they all ran to get on it!! And let me tell you- the room was decorated perfectly. Daniel and Sauce had been working for a year making bunting, table signs, seating display, and collecting bottles. And those bottles- they were the perfect items to display the beautiful floral arrangements by Tanti of Papertini Floral and Event Design. (She is ALWAYS amazing to work with and one of the vendors we refer regularly). The couple had cookies at every table as well as cupcakes butlered for dessert. They cut into a small cake for the festivities- all of which were wonderfully decorated and tasted Amazing!! they were supplied by Van Earl Cakes. The reception was totally rocking all night long. We have never been to a wedding where every single person danced (and they danced almost all night too.) This was thanks to the fabulous Roots and Groove (another vendor we love to refer). But all of this magic wouldn't have come together so awesomely if not for the work of Christina Hill from cHill Weddings. Her and her team totally grasped the look and feel Daniel and Sauce were going for. They were able to make it all happen and make the whole day run smoothly. We Love when couples hire a planner- especially when one rocks it out like they did!

Nate works on bridges and has even worked on the Ben Franklin Bridge- so it was only natural we headed up there. And even though Km is afraid of heights- she was such a trooper up there! and what a gorgeous day! They were naturals and totally Rocked the session! They also wanted so of the Fall foliage and cobblestone of Old city- so we stopped by some awesome spots and continued to capture their love.

We can't way for their wedding- what a great couple!

While we Love getting to capture everyone’s special moments at their wedding- sometimes a wedding comes along that is just the perfect match to AL and I. I’m not sure how many folks know this- but i LOVE Alice in Wonderland. Always have! There is just something about that white rabbit leading Alice on a grand adventure that has always stolen my heart and fueled my sense of adventure! So when we met Clare and John and heard they were having an Alice inspired Un-Wedding- we just knew it would be an awesome day!!! and we were not disappointed when they said their vows in front of 28 guests on September 3, 2011 at Duling Kurtz Inn.

Clare is magical- she is her own Alice! and she is gorgeous! She made her own wedding dress- yes i said MADE her OWN wedding dress- and it was Fabulous! She even made her garter, did her own hair and makeup, and made every last detail herself for her magical day (with her mom's help- who ALSO made her own dress!) Talent really runs in this family! John was the perfect wonderland groom with his vest imported from England, his ascot that Clare made, and his totally awesome pocket watch! There ceremony matched their styles perfectly as family members read from "The Velveteen Rabbit" and Dr. Seuss’s "Oh the Places you Shall Go!". It was the cutest thing EVER!

The couple kept this affair very low key with just a few family members for their un-bridal party (including the most adorable ring bearer), a boom box playing a CD of their favorite tunes, a candy bar for the guests, and an awesome tea party dinner! (the food was off the hook!) After taking a group picture of ALL the guests with the couple- Clare kicked off her shoes and they shared a romantic first dance on the wooden bridge they crossed to their ceremony.

The whole event was something special and Al and I were treated as one of the family as we too were assigned seats for this intimate dinner. It was so cool to be sharing in every moment with them and it seemed like we had been friends for years (not having only met twice). We look forward to knowing Clare and John for years to come and capturing all their very special moments as they make their way together through Wonderland.

On July 17, 2011 Naomi and Josh had a wonderful family filled wedding at the Franklin Institute. On July 17, 2011 Naomi and Josh had a wonderful family filled wedding at the Franklin Institute. We really got a chance to get to know how fun and sweet this couple is when we shot their engagement session in NYC this past Spring. The two of them met while attending NYU and were in the process of moving to Philly. (Naomi is originally from the area). They choose to have their Orthodox Jewish Ceremony and Reception at The Franklin Institute so that they could give a unique experience to their guests. And What a party it was! We did all of their formal pictures first, following a beautiful "1-st See" moment on the rooftop. Then the couple, with two of their wedding party members escorted them, and Al and I headed into Olde City to take some bridal pictures. While it was very warm, we all made it through and really hustled to get everything they wanted to capture. We met the rest of the bridal party at Logan Circle (in from of the FI) to shoot these photos. Then it was back to the FI to capture the family. This was a bit of a challenge because the museum is still open and with large groups you really need the room to position them.

First see on the rooftop

After we finished all the formal shots we were joined by our assistant and second shooters (for both photography and videography). Lisa, Doug, and Brian quickly situated themselves and we all headed to the Tish and the Beddecan. Here family gathered, ate, drank, signed the Ketubah, and wished the couple well. The whole party was lead into the planetarium for the ceremony and when they were finished jubilantly lead out to spend a little alone time! The guests enjoyed cocktail hour and exporing the museum before the reception formally began with the couple introduced into Franklin Hall. This was where the real fun began. It was a little hectic trying to hold our ground with this rowdy and fun crowd as they danced to a 45 minute non stop traditional set! The party rocked non stop with guests in various customes, signs, silly string and lifting the the couple onto chairs and even table tops!
The couple decided to have a small bridal person (just 1 attendant each). This allowed us to have the time necessary to move around the museum to get some different types of shots since time was very limited. One of my favorite details of this wedding was the favors. Each person had their own different Pez! How cool is that!
It was certainly cool to see where our favorite players prepare for the games and to see their lockers with their personal items that show their personalities. The time is limited so you don't get to have as much time to prepare the shot and find the best lighting. This is why you need to be able to think and move quickly.

After shooting at the Phillies stadium, we headed over to FDR Park. I love this park. So many people in Philly don't even know it exists. This was time for an outfit change and to get some of those more romantic shots.
We had a BLAST photographing these two and we can't wait for their 2012 wedding.
This way we could decide what areas we wanted to shoot in. knowing we were going to shoot where the general public doesn't go was even more awesome! We had soooo much fun that day. Marybeth and Tim did a wonderful job rocking the shoot! Hope you enjoy some of the images from the day!!!
We were very excited for Suzie and Lazurus's Baltimore wedding on June 11, 2011. This was going to be one epic day! They were having two different ceremonies- a Catholic Mass and an Orthodox Greek ceremony! Suzie got ready at the Baltimore Mariott Water Front Hotel. She was Stunning!!!! She had chosen the perfect dress and two different pairs of shoes! While there was some problems with her flowers- Al and I stepped right in fixing them and putting that smile right back on her face!!

The first ceremony was at the beautiful Corpus Christi Catholic Church. It was the perfect place for a fairy tale wedding! After taking some family and bridal party photos we headed to the second church of the day. The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Enunciation was as equally beautiful with it deep rich reds and gold. After more family and bridal party pictures the couple, Al, and I headed to the Baltimore Harbor for some private and fun photos. We had a great time just laughing and capturing all the love. When we finished we headed over to their reception site- the Awesome Hippodrome Theater! What a great place to have a reception. While it isn't in the actual theater itself- we did get to go in their for plenty of photo ops!

Their reception was such a TOTAL BLAST!!! They had a DJ as well as a Greek band- Zephyros. and boy did they keep the dancing going!
We want to thank Suzie and Lazurus for such a fun day and we wish you years of fun, love, and laughter!
The wedding was kept on the smaller side (about 80 guests and one honor attendant each). This kept the wedding very intimate and family focused.

The grounds at Trump National are beautiful. While they take you around in a golf cart to go get photos, you can't really spend that much time out on the course and they don't let you talk if there are any golfers in sight! This makes helping the couple pose a little difficult. But we had a lot of fun (well- until the lady driving the golf cart stopped on a hill and we almost flipped over- lol!!!)

Once the reception had begun the dancing never stopped! The party was kept going by the rocking sounds of the Don Eaton Orchestra.

We had a wonderful time shooting Tifini and Jose's Big Day!!!
We were so excited to shoot her maternity photos because Megan is so gorgeous- however, that was not in the stars. 3 days before the session she went into premature labor and had an emergency C-Section. Little Sutton was born just 2 pounds. But i will tell you that was two pounds of heart and fight! He lived in the hospital, until before Christmas they were able to bring him home. What a gift.

Al and I were so honored and please to be able to do wonderful family shots with them in their Northern Liberties home. We look forward to watching him grow and take many many more pictures.

They did their “first see” moment on their staircase. This was one regal looking couple. Heather looked like a queen- REALLY and Ilya was so handsome, and even had a top hat!! They really looked like they should have been in a classic film. Both of them graduated from Univ. of Penn- so that is where we did their formal group shots. There were some gorgeous spots and fun props too- like the little LOVE statue and giant button!!!

Their Ceremony was held at Shaare Shamayim. And their Reception was at Melody Restaurant- this is a Russian place to honor Ilya’s family. And What a GREAT place. They had a fabulous band that played a mix of Russian dance songs and pop songs! and food, food, food!!

We wish so many warm wishes to the both of them and are so thankful we were able to capture all their amazing moments!
They called 3 days ago, practically in tears, because they had gotten their photos back. They were not at all what they thought they would be. The composition was off, they had placed them under a tree so peoples faces were blotchy. There were hardly any pictures of just the two of them and their was nothing artistic about them. They had used this softening effect on many of the photos and this was something the couple had asked NOT to have happen!

So today we celebrated thier 3rd week anniversay and set off to re-take their pictures. One cool thing- was this time they could have some pictures taken with their dogs!

We went to this great spot on the river and got some amazing shots! The wind was blowing perfectly and I caught the veil mid air. But then the wind picked up, and it blew the veil into the water! It isnt hers, as it was her something borrowed. So Al and Kerry found some long reed type things and Al was able to fish it out!!

Check out a few sneak shots from the day! Thanks for so much fun and dinner and letting us watch the Eagles game (even though Kerry is a Patriots fan!!)
So it was only natural that this was our first stop for their E-Session! Also- Phil rides a Harley and Loves his bike- since it wont be at the wedding they wanted to incorporate it into the day. It was a natural choice for me to have him park it ride in front of the museum and use my fish eye lens for some great shots. Next we went to the Plateau section in Fairmount Park and the couple rode their Harley onto the grass and enjoyed a little bubbly!!

Next we went to an arboretum and took some shots. It was a beautiful Fall day so we took our time and just enjoyed the day. I hope you enjoy some of my samples!
They did however find a Bishop who was willing to marry them. He was in his complete Bishop outfit and even had a sword to united them under. It was truley spectacular!

All of the tables had castle names and the favors were these cute wine stoppers with a Celtic Circle. In keeping with the Irish theme they had a local Irish dance company preform. That was really fun- boy did those girls have a lot of energy. It was so fun to see. the whole evening was fun. We knew it would be since we had done MaryBeth's brothers' (see Matt and Finnah on an earlier blog) wedding earlier. Instead of cake they had cupcakes and a smore station outside!

We wish the too of them so many years of fun, laughter, and adventure and we look forward to building a long lasting friendship!
The whole place was awesome. and Carolyn looked like a movie star!
We were able to do most of the family shots and some of the bridal party shots before the ceremony. this allowed us to move more quickly through the remaining combination family shots (the bride and groom did not see each other before the ceremony). The big star though of the picture taking was Tron. Tron is their bulldog and wore a special tutu for the occasion! She was totally excited to see her parents and seemed to love being a part of their BIG day!! and being that I LOVE animals- I was especially psyched.

One cool thing about the Penn Museum is all the great places to take photos. There is this great cubby area tucked in between two of the sections- this allowed for great outside shots and total privacy. My favorite thing about this reception was that the meal was served home-style. It was really cool to sit with some of their family members and just passing the food around and sharing stories, It was so personal. Looking around the guests really seemed to enjoy it as well. We noticed that it seemed to really bring the folks at the table together- and the food was Fantastic!!!

Carolyn and Paul are really fun people and their wedding was a perfect reflection of this. We wish them years of love and adventure-and thank them and their families for allowing us to capture such important memories!
Both of them were getting ready right next door to each other so we had a lot of fun running between the two houses capturing all of the moments. We then staged a "first see" moment for them. They were using a school bus to transport family and some of the guests to the picture location. We had Bruce blindfolded walk to the bus and wait at the top step. Jessica then said his name and he removed his blindfold and saw his beautiful bride. What a touching moment it was!!
We then headed to the Historic section of Philly for some gorgeous pictures. The weather was great and we had a lot of fun taking the pix. The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch and everyone had a blast. We even stayed an extra hour to capture all the fun! We want to thank Jessica and Bruce and their families. They all were so sweet and we wish them years and years of love and happiness!
While it was crowded- we had a lot of fun capturing the moments of their shopping! all morning there was a light drizzle- but that didn't slow us down. We headed to the rooftop of their apartment and then to the local park. Here they showed us their favorite books, supported their team, (Go Villanova!), ate their apples and toasted to their love! We had a really great time. here are some of my favorite images of the day!
Heather and Illya are getting married soon- October 10, 2010. they recently added an engagement session and we are so glad they did. Next up is Suzen and Landry. their wedding date is August 20, 2011. they are having their reception at the Hibachi restaurant on Columbus Blvd, which sounds really awesome- she showed us the menu! they got engaged at Love Park so that was our first stop. We then headed over to Broad St to get the infamous "Broad Street" shot. Our final destination was Franklin Square where we used the mini golf as a backdrop and rode the carousel.
Due to the rain the week before we also shot Maurice and Keisha on the same day as Suzen and Landry. Their wedding will be July 23, 2011 at the Chase Center in Wilmington, DE. Maurice got down on one knee and proposed at the Franklin Institute- so that was our first stop. Maurice and Keisha were actually doing a Save-the-Date Video so Al was capturing all kind of b-roll while i was taking pictures. I love the steps of the FI- so regal and we were even able to get shots without other people in the background!!! We went across the street to Elkins Square to get some fun shots with the fountain behind them and then again they too wanted the Broad Street shot. Our final destination was Washington Park. Here they laid out a blanket, played some football, and just had some fun. this couple is so cute!! They love to play rock, paper, scissors, and had us laughing the whole time. We can't wait for their wedding !
Wendy and Shannon really wanted to be at their whole 1.5 hour cocktail hour to enjoy their guests as well as the bluegrass band they had playing. SO we staged a “first see” moment and did all of the family pictures before hand as well as the signing of the Ketubah. I really love the grassy areas around the grounds for picture taking- though with all this lack of rain, there were a lot more brown patches in some areas than green.
My favorite photos are the ones taken in front of the Constitutional Center. I purposely placed them to get the "We the People" clearly in view. We at BG Productions capture people's love and happiness- regardless of their sexual preference. I was a history teacher for many years and always taught history from the struggle of all people.
I was contact by a friend of a friend to see if I would be interested in shooting 2 of her other friends! LOL!!! so Megan
Facebooked me saying how much she Loves all my pictures and that her
friends Marybeth and Nadir were looking for some cool shots. Marybeth
is this kick-ass Sax player for Cirque Dream Illumination and Nadir is
an acrobat for the company (who is actually from Uzbekistan). I told
her that i don’t really do head shots and she said not to worry- they
were looking for something edgy and different. I immediately thought of
this cool and hidden space in Philly where i am actually doing a Mess
the Dress Session in Oct. I described it and she thought it sounded
perfect.

Al and I went to Atlantic City last week to meet with Marybeth and watch Nadir in the Jungle Dreams show. We wanted to get a feel for
their personalities and see what kinds of things Nadir does. Well, let
em tell you- we LOVED both of them. I took just some sample pics of MB
and she is so great to photograph- and then we saw the show. Impressed
is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!! we were in awe!!! we definitely knew what we
wanted to do.

So yesterday we finally got to put it all together. I just don’t think we could have gotten anything better!!! While it was hard to
capture Nadir in the air (i’m not used to shooting someone moving soooo
FAST!!!) i think I was able to really showcase him. I had free reign to
be as artistic as i wanted (something we don’t really get with
weddings) so i really went for it. and so did they!! As you can tell
Nadir is death-defying- i was so nervous with him hanging on that edge
over the water- Marybeth couldn’t even look! But he just said with a
huge smile on his face and his accent- I can do this! We would see a
little grin and know he had some other new and crazy idea- All we had
to do was have the camera ready.

I am so thankful to Al who was such a big help. He controlled the lighting (we wanted it to be as natural as possible so we just used an
on-camera flash and a remote flash hand held by Al where we wanted the
light to go) and he took some shots too!!
So i hope you enjoy!!! We certainly did!!

formal shots as we would have liked- but we made the best of it and
were still able to get some great shots.

Wanted to take a few minutes to thank you and your husband for your professionalism and to let you know that it was a pleasure working with
you. I laughed when I saw the photo of the flowers that were taken on
our kitchen counter. Do you remember when I was so concerned that the
Potato Chips and the sharp knives were going to show in the
background? You kept reassuring me that they would not. It turned out
to be a beautiful shot. YOU ARE THE PROFESSIONAL...AND I WAS JUST THE
NORMAL ANXIOUS MOTHER OF THE BRIDE. I also loved the photo with the
flower girls and the Barbie doll.

Once again, thank you for being an important part of our daughter's wedding day. You captured all of our smiles on this beautiful special
day. We definitely would recommend you to all our families and friends.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the photos.

Fondly, Betsy Janof
