Designing a concept for your special event should be done so that the event environment is authentic, inspiring, and shows your creative flair! There are three concepts you can employ:

1.) Modern Classic

This concept has a strong masculine flair, so a great way for guys to host their special event - let's say a sophisticated bachelor party! The color palette would employ masculine tones such as mahogany, ebony, and bronze. Adding some metallic tones such as nickel and iron would give it a bit more flair! Or, modernize it by adding white as an accent color. Unique room elements would be to ad such things as leather wingback chairs with metal studs, racing trophies, animal heads or statues, or topiaries. Add to this, your entertainment, such as a martini bar with a professional mixologist who can prepare unique twists on some classic cocktails. If your group is a cigar-smoking bunch, consider adding a cigar rolling station!

2.) Sultry Seduction

Pantone seems to be very popular still, and utilizing warm tones such as Tangerine, would make your special event simulate the mood for color! So, how about the red-based shades with flects of silver or gold, or even black. Adding such elements as crystals, candles, mirrors, as well as layering some unique pillows in polka dot and prints would be just the right touch for making the overall aesthetics of the event "cozy" and warm. To modernize, add such elements as baroque candlesticks, painted in gloss black, or a contemporary centerpiece.

3.) Adventure, Pure and Simple

We all love a bit of adventure! Pop culture and interior design shops are progressing to more adventuresome displays; so, think of the neutrals - taupe, cream, black, and add a bit of the metallics such as gold or silver. If you want the color to pop with color, utilize some of the dark tones - sage, eggplant, or navy. For a more playful look, utilize primary shades such as red, blue, or yellow. Some great props, books stripped of their covers, toy or model airplanes, film reels or cogs from clockworks, and archival maps or images of cityscapes will help bring this adventuresome event to life! Lighting this theme, utilize oversized bronze chandeliers with crystals or strands of bronzed cable with old-fashioned giant lightbulbs.

An adults-only reception is still common and well within the bounds of proper etiquette, however, weddings with a focus on family are becoming the trend. Since families are growing, couples want to be able to include the children and the cousins in their special day. Moreover, cousins, nieces and nephews and even the children of the bride or groom are participating in the ceremony and also staying during the reception. Having it all work out is child's play...when you plan ahead.

On-Site Babysitting
It is not always an easy task for parents to find reliable child care, especially if they are coming from out of town. Having one or two paid babysitters at the reception and even the ceremony allows for the parents to enjoy and participate in your day, while the kids are safely attended to in the next room. Everyone is happy – and parents are secure because they know their children are being taken care of and close by.
Attendance in the kids room should be optional and at the parent's discretion. To make the experience much more enjoyable for all, stock the room with age appropriate videos, toys, games, snacks and even blankets and pillows for when little ones get tired.

Give Them a Job
To enhance the wedding-attending experience for all, give the kids a job. They want to be helpful and love the praise! Kids love bubbles, right? Put them in charge of blowing bubbles as the newlyweds leave the ceremony or as the bridal party enters the reception. This is a nice touch – great for capturing some really fun photos, and everyone enjoys the day! You can also provide children with disposable cameras so they make some memories, stay occupied and have fun. Kids feel a part of the event, and love to take pictures because it makes them feel a bit more grown up.

Invest in Some Fun
Another way to ensure the kids are enjoying the special day as much as the adults is to relax and hire entertainment especially for them. A clown, magician or puppeteer can keep the little ones occupied for an hour or two while their parents socialize.

Kid's Table
It's best to ask parents ahead what their preference is here but a special table can be a fun way for older kids and their younger siblings to spend the dinner hour. Consider having your caterer cover this table with white butcher paper and place crayons in cups for a pre- and post- dinner activity. Fun place mats and napkins can make it even more appealing. In addition, kids sometimes prefer sitting with their peers so they can socialize in their own way.

Kid Friendly Menu
Arrange to serve foods that kids will like such as chicken fingers, pigs in a blanket, pasta, fruit skewers and veggies with dip. Having a special punch made with sugar free juice, fizzy water and garnished with fruit will also be a big hit with kids.

Dancing
Kids love to be out on the dance floor with the adults. You may want to encourage the band or DJ to play some songs the kids might enjoy early in the evening to work off some extra energy.A Fairytale Wedding Themetag:www.bridaltweet.com,2009-06-22:3145964:BlogPost:470172009-06-22T09:46:17.000ZHeart and Soul Eventshttps://www.bridaltweet.com/profile/ConnieMCastellano

Finding the right style gown to complement your body type is part of the experience of creating that magical day - your wedding day! You want everything to be perfect - from the fashion ensemble of the bridal party to the venue, to the ceremony and the reception. Here are some tips for choosing the right style based on your particular body type.

Full Figured Women
•A-line style is best because it lengthens the whole body without drawing attention to the waistline.
•Empire waist is another good choice because it is narrowest below the bust and conceals the waist and hips.
•Many plus size girls tend to purchase gowns that cover skin; however, skin is sexy and showing arms or neckline can often make one appear smaller.
•Deep V and scoop necklines flatter curvy figures and always look best on full figured women.

Petite Women
•A-line style is flattering because it lengthens the whole body
•Petite women should avoid sheaths because they seem to shorten a small body even more.
•Steer clear of very full skirts because they make petite women look bottom heavy.
•A cap-style gown works well because it gives the feeling of a strapless and serves a practical purpose of keeping the gown in place.

Large-Busted Women
•Off the shoulder gowns look wonderful on full busted women because it draws our attention upward, emphasizes the shoulders and minimizes the chest.
•Keep your skirt narrow; wearing a full skirt makes you look large on top and bottom.

Bottom Heavy Women
•Women who are large through the hips and buttocks should look for a wedding dress that focuses on their upper body.
•Women who are large through the hips and buttocks can wear well gowns with full skirts.
•Showing your arms, back, and bustline work well for you.
•A corset style bodice with lacing will highlight your upper body and draw attention away from your hips.
•Avoid pleated or gathered fabric around the waist
•An A-line skirt always works best

12 TIPS TO FOLLOW WHEN YOU GO SHOPPING FOR YOUR BRIDAL GOWN

1)Set a price limit on how much you are willing to spend
Have a price in mind because bridal gowns cost from a few hundred to several thousands of dollars. When talking with the sales attendant they will try to upsell to make more money; so often, it is a good idea to let them know you are willing to spend a certain amount. You should fib and tell them at least 10% percent less than what you really wish to spend.

2)Know your figure shape
When looking through bridal magazines, remember that the models are usually super thin and make all the wedding gowns look beautiful. You need to focus on those styles that flatter your figure type.

3)Ask for bridal shop recommendations
Talk with everyone you know to see what their experience has been in dealing with bridal shops in your area. Remember, customer service is just as important as choosing the right gown.

4)Shop during the week
Weekends are when brides to be are out in full force shopping for their desired gown. Shop during the week so that you get the sales attendant’s undivided attention.

5)Fib about your wedding date
Fib about your actual wedding date by pushing the date forward by about four weeks. In many instances, brides have become near tears because their gown has not arrived timely and they are calling it very close when having to follow up with alterations. You do not want to be a wreck over “will my gown arrive in time or won’t it?”

6)Bring a buddy with you
Having a friend or family member with you helps you to keep cool and on track. You are excited and nervous and having a second opinion will help you to choose the right gown and not be coerced into buying something that you may regret later.

7)Take your time when choosing your wedding gown
Don’t allow yourself to be coerced into buying the first bridal gown you see. Take your time to view several dresses, and visit several bridal shops. You have to be happy with the gown and the customer service. Take some notes; draw some sketches; narrow down your choices to the top three. Then go back after a few days and re-try those gowns on before you make a final decision.

8)Ask a lot of questions of the sales attendant
There are many hidden fees and policies that you may not be aware of when purchasing a bridal gown. Here are some of the more important points you should ask about:
•Who is the manufacturer of the dress?
•How long will it take to get the dress in?
•What kind of payment policies does the shop have?
•How much of a deposit is required? Can you pay by credit card?
•What is the store's refund and cancellation policy? (get it in writing!)
•What are the costs of alterations? (get a written estimate)
•Are there shipping fees? Size fees for extra large sizes or petites?
•Are their rush fees? (if you have to have your gown sooner)

9)Bring a vinyl measure tape with you
Make sure the shop takes your measurements with a vinyl tape measure, not cloth. The cloth tape measures get stretched and will give inaccurate measurements (larger than expected). This, not surprisingly, will result in "required alterations" when the bridal gown wedding dress arrives. Bring your own vinyl tape with you, so that if the store doesn't have one, you can provide your own and get an accurate measurement done. Make sure they measure your bust, waist, hips and from the hollow of your throat to hemline (for length).

10)Don’t base your choice on your dress size
You may be a size 8, but manufacturer sizes vary widely when it comes to wedding dresses. A size 8 from one manufacturer may be a size 12 with another. Ask the clerk to see the listed manufacturer's dress size chart when choosing a gown, so you have a better idea on what size you'll need, once you're measurements are taken.

11)Don’t put your bridal gown on a layaway plan
While you're busy paying down your wedding gown (that you don't have yet), the manufacturer may discontinue the line or go out of business. Now you're left with no wedding dress (and often no refund policy either). You'll have to start all over and find a new gown to purchase from that particular bridal store, whether you want to or not.

12)Make your own wedding headpiece
Most bridal shops charge $150 to $300 (or more) for wedding headpieces that cost less than $20 to make. They aren't hard to make and there are several good books and patterns available to help you out. If you aren't crafty, find someone who is that would make it for you for a small fee. Another option is to rent a headpiece or buy one from a resale/consignment store.A Unique Event Venuetag:www.bridaltweet.com,2009-05-31:3145964:BlogPost:337312009-05-31T14:07:17.000ZHeart and Soul Eventshttps://www.bridaltweet.com/profile/ConnieMCastellano

Planning a wedding does not have to be a daunting task! You want the room, the event, and the activities to be perfect! Flowers can be very expensive, but you love the look and aroma of fresh florals. Well, do not stress - you can decorate with fresh florals even though you are on a fixed budget. Here are some ideas!

Crystal bowls full of floating blooms and candles are very ultra modern looking and make for a very pretty presentation. They are so easy to assemble! Pastel colors set the tone beautifully for a Spring wedding. Adding rose shaped candles in a variety of pastel colors will complement the arrangement perfectly. Set the centerpiece atop a mauve or ivory satin or lace runner and you have a beautiful display at an affordable price!

If you intend to use rose petals for the bridal aisle or sprinkled over the dance floor, it is much more affordable if you purchase the rose petals by the pound. By purchasing in this way, you have more options for utilizing them in your decor. You can use them as a complement to dessert tables, buffet and gift tables, and in many other ways.

Another centerpiece concept is placing a single floral in a bud vase surrounded by flickering votive candles to provide a stunning look. Votives are very inexpensive and you purchase them in bulk for uses in many different options. You can use them for decor at your engagement party, bridal shower and wedding. Candles are very elegant and sophisticated looking, and with the single bud vase arrangement, it is amazingly beautiful.

If you are decisively set on using a floral arrangement, then add textural filler to make a lean arrangement look more substantial. You can purchase a lesser amount of flowers and use the textural filler to make the bouquet look more full and lush. If you go with simple, low centerpieces then it will be less costly because they require fewer flowers and less labor. You can also cluster potted plants/herbs for a very eco-friendly look. They also make great centerpieces that can be given away ask door prizes at the end of the evening or to all the people who helped make your event special.

For a more "down-home country" appeal, using galvanized tin urns, distressed wood boxes, silver pails, or terra cotta pots filled with herbs such as mint, lavender or chamomile or annuals like zinnias and cosmos, will bring a fresh outdoorsy touch to a garden wedding. Using flowering branches such as bundles of cherry, dogwood, and apple blossoms in urns also make for a very chic look. A flowering arrangement of flowing branches costs around $250. The same size of mixed flowers could cost around $600. Therefore, you can see significant savings by utilizing flowering branches. It is a fabulous look! If you also remember to stay seasonal by ordering flowers that are in season that will keep the cost more in line with your budget.

Choosing simple arrangements are less expensive, there is less expertise needed, and it takes less time to create them. Staying clear of the holidays for your special event is a good idea because you pay a premium for blooms around the flower-giving holidays such as Valentines Day. So, don't sweat it - you can afford the florals if you keep these resourceful tips in mind. You can have a very elegant, chic, or trendy wedding and still keep within your budget!Bachelorette Party Venuetag:www.bridaltweet.com,2009-05-29:3145964:BlogPost:331542009-05-29T21:00:00.000ZHeart and Soul Eventshttps://www.bridaltweet.com/profile/ConnieMCastellano
