5 Details You Don't Want to Forget for Your Big Wedding Day

Wedding days are hectic for everyone involved. It can be easy to overlook small but important details that can make a big difference in the efficacy and smoothness of the wedding day. Here are 5 details you don’t want to forget for your big wedding day.

Menu Alternatives

Some of your guests may even have specific dietary restrictions that prevent them from being able to eat the foods you arranged with your caterer. Food allergens must also be taken into consideration when arranging your wedding reception menu. Always include a vegan or vegetarian alternative and a healthy menu alternative for those with high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease.

Extra Seating and Tables

It’s easy to miscount the number of people who have RSVP’d and find yourself with guests who have no table to sit at or no chairs to sit on. It is also common for wedding guests to bring more people than they originally stated on their RSVP invitation. Due to the potential for this mishap to occur, it is always wise to keep a few extra tables and extra sets of chairs from a company like Party People Rentals & Sales at the venue for your wedding reception.

Backup Venue for Bad Weather

A wedding outside in the fresh air is the dream of many brides. Unfortunately, the weather at the wedding site may not be agreeable. Worse, the weather may shift dramatically from the forecast and leave you and your wedding in dire straits. Do yourself a favor and plan for just such an eventuality. Pick out a second venue that your wedding can move to should the weather turn unexpectedly. This venue should be large enough to fit your entire wedding party.

An Overnight Bag

Most newlyweds will leave their wedding reception and immediately leave for a hotel room or other overnight accommodations. Once you arrive at your overnight accommodations, you’re going to want to prepare yourself for an evening of relaxation and enjoyment as a married couple. Don’t forget to pack yourself an overnight bag with a change of clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, and other amenities that will prepare you for your honeymoon departure the following morning.

Wedding Wardrobe Retrieval

If your wedding gown and tuxedo are rented, they’ll need to be returned to the bridal shop before you leave for your honeymoon or you’ll risk fees. Make sure you ask a friend or family member to meet you to pick up your wedding clothes to return them to the bridal shop promptly.

Don’t forget to make gift bags for your guests as they leave your wedding reception. This is a way to thank them for showing up and making the gift bags are a fun bonding experience for you and your bridesmaids.

Hi Meghan,

There are many things we forget during our wedding. This process may look very small but will be more hectic. There are certain details you should remember on this big day are: guests list, parking availability, backup venue in case of bad weather, bay area wedding videographer if the respective videographer is unavailable, etc.

Thank you for sharing such an informative post.

So many things to plan and organise.

Get one thing sorted as far ahead as you can by looking for a variety of musicians, bands and other entertainers that will be available to book for the wedding.

The best wedding bands are booked up well in advance but checking some booking websites you can sometimes find singers and musicians at the last minute ready to accompany the ceremony or get the guest up on the dance floor at the reception.
