Wedding Stress? 4 Tips for Simplifying the Planning Process

Getting married is wonderful. Planning a wedding, however, is grounds for a headache and a half. The stress of planning a wedding gets bigger depending on the size of your event and how much time you have left. You don’t need to cut back on things if you don’t want to. If you’re worried about planning your wedding, these are four tips for simplifying the planning process.

Confirm Your Guest List

You don’t want to order food for 200 people only to find out that only 150 can make it. Get your guest list on lockdown and then figure out who can make it. The people who are most important to your wedding will be able to give you an answer right away. If someone says they’re not sure if they can make it, tell them that you need an answer now, so that you know just how much you’ll need to spend.

Keep Reception Venue Close By

Your ceremony and the reception should not be too far from one another. They don’t have to be next to each other, but your guests shouldn’t have to drive across town after the wedding. If you have a church or other venue that you definitely want to get married in, you should immediately start researching reception halls. This way you can make the transition from ceremony to reception far easier.

Find the Right Venue

The right venue is very important for your wedding. Ideally, you should want to get a private event venue so that you can enjoy some relative intimacy with you and your wedding guests. It should be well-suited for weddings, and it should correspond with you and your spouse-to-be’s aesthetic tastes. Before putting down a deposit on any place, make sure that you don’t feel like you’re settling for less than you deserve.

Get a Wedding Planner

The reason wedding planners exist is so that you can give yourself a break. While you will, of course, have certain demands, they’ll be there to make sure this comes to fruition. Stay in touch with them, but trust that they know what they’re doing and that they’re committed to giving you a great wedding.

The best way to deal with stress isn’t to deny it’s there. Instead, it’s to acknowledge it and figure out what you should do next. Taking just a couple steps forward is better than taking no steps at all. Then, you can be much closer to your goal and look forward to having a wonderful wedding to celebrate your love.
