4 Factors You Need to Consider for Your Destination Wedding

Heading out to a destination wedding to marry the partner of your dreams is going to change your life forever, but there are some important variables to consider before you send out invitations. Planning out a destination wedding can be challenging, and you want to be sure that you aren’t going to run into any major problems on your special day.

Where Your Planner Is Located

Working with a planner who lives near you will be easier initially, but they might not have any connections at the destination. If your wedding is taking place at a larger resort, then you should ask a manager about their recommendations for a local wedding planner. Many resorts have full-time event coordinators, and one of those professionals is going to be invaluable in the days leading up to your wedding.

Flight Costs

Unless you plan on spending a huge amount of money on your wedding, your guests will most likely need to buy their own plane tickets. Unfortunately, that is going to be prohibitively expensive for some people, and that is an important variable to consider. The best way to keep plane tickets as affordable as possible is to plan the wedding outside of peak season. You should also send out invitations as far in advance as possible so that your guests can get their finances in order.

Shipping Items Back and Forth

You probably won’t be able to stuff all of your personal possessions into your checked bags, and that means some of your items will need to be shipped. Three or four weeks before the wedding, you might want to ship your wedding decorations, some toiletries, and any clothes that you will be wearing after the event. If you are going to ship the wedding dress or any other pricey items, then you should get some type of shipping insurance.

Transportation at the Location

In some locations, you won’t even have the option of renting vehicles, and that means you will need to figure out alternative forms of transportation. To simplify the logistics, you might want to think about a wedding bus hire. Hiring a single company to transport everyone is going to make the trip must less stressful for you and all of your guests.

When it comes to planning a destination wedding, the location is going to be the most important factor in the equation. Researching the pros and cons of each individual destination might be time-consuming, but that hard work is going to be worth it.
