Did you book one or more weddings as a result of your Facebook marketing activities?  Have you created relationships with brides on Facebook?

I'm creating a marketing course that will teach wedding professionals exactly how to reach over 3 million engaged people on Facebook and have a flow of bridal leads delivered to you each month.  Within the course, I'd love to feature a few success stories from the wedding pros in BridalTweet's community.  If I choose your success story, you will get free exposure for your business.

For a chance to have your business featured, please share your story in this discussion and include the following information:

  1. Your Facebook page's address
  2. What type of marketing activities worked for you on Facebook?
  3. Exactly what results did you see?

If I choose to feature your story in my upcoming marketing course, I will contact you beforehand to get your official permission.

Here's to your success!

Hello my name is Annie,

My business is Annie's Creations, I am self taught cake decorator who started only about two years ago. I serve the NYC area. I work from my home, which is perfect because I have two small children and this allows me to be a full time mom, wife and a cake decorator. I have had a love for art basically all my life. When I began doing cakes for fun and for family events I found it to be my true passion. I enjoyed the creation part of doing a cake and most of all the amazement from the people. I soon began to be told that I should make this a business because I was really good at it. So little by little I began! And Annie's Creations was created. My biggest network is word of mouth and facebook has help in so many different ways. It has allowed me to show my work and as well as help other cake decorators like myself. So I not only use facebook to network but to reach other to other decorators. I have had many cake decorators help me in my path that I want to pay it forward as well.

My facebook page address is:

Types of Marketing activities worked for me on facebook are playing games such as bingo, trivia in which the winner wins free goods or discounts. This has help my business boom. And the customers love it! They get to share this on their facebook which helps promote me more.

I joined a local wedding vendors facebook page - set up by a local wedding vendor.

Its a great place for brides to chat to each other, share ideas, help resource wedding items.

Also for wedding vendors to showcase thir products, latest weddding blogs and  venue reports  and make any time related offers.

Participating in these chats and posting interesting questions such as "which brides are going to toss their bouquet" together with a great bouquet toss/catch picture I'd taken generates lots of interest and has led to bookings.

Regular blogging has helped to - network blogs pots lkink into facebook automatically.

Networking with vendors in person for real  -eg. nest week have a first real meet of vendors in the group.

Rather than shying away from competition but embracing them means, friendships are forged and we can pass referrals to each other if we are booked for that date.

In fact this year I will be shooting 2 weddings of other local photographers - on of which will be in the Greek Island of Kos!

Networking and blogging is the key to my success this year.

By simply posting wedding images and tagging the people in them, I have booked weddings on Facebook.  Facebook is the most amazing free marketing tool around.  Sure, you can pay for their ads, but I have had much success with the free features that FB offers.  The more photos you post, the more exposure.  We all know that word of mouth advertisement is the best. Facebook is the perfect tool to spread the word about your business!!

In addition to booking work, I am able to stay connected with my brides, past and present.  Strengthening this bond has helped me to better understand their wants and needs, and it has also turned them into walking talking billboards for me! By staying connected with past brides, I have begin to photograph more babies and families, and even senior portrait sessions.  Staying connected is the key to repeat business.

CardBoxDiva.com (formerly Creative Custom Card Boxes) has seen enormous success using facebook as a promotional tool.  We share pictures of our latest work on our fan page(s).  We've also run a few giveaways via our blog and promoted on fb (re. Fb regulations) and gotten much success.  The best way we've found to market on Facebook However is to engage with our fans.  When a fan comments or posts (whether they are a bride or other vendor) we continue the conversation.  We 'make friends' and learn more about or fans.  We've found this to be a successful strategy accross social media platforms.

Various networking groups on facebook have also allowed us to gain exposure to other vendors who then refer us to their clients!

Initially I used only my personal facebook page but as more and more people began to add me I decided to set up a dedicated page for work.  Although brides will often still wish to interact with my personal page I use the business page for work info such as letting clients know when i am working and where.  I keep brides updated on how busy I am, what suppliers I am using for albums etc etc.  I also update with specials and competitions.

Being based in Ireland I find people here can be quite reserved and private, it can be quite hard to get brides to interact with blogs, tweets and facebook.  What works most for me is to not only post pics of each individual wedding but also a selection of guest pics too.  This way not only am I having the bride use my page but also her guests.  This is where I can connect with the guests most after the event and keep my name in their memories for future weddings or events.

I also interact with other suppliers and have obtained bookings from other suppliers clients through these interactions.  I feel a strong presence on social media is key to business these days and when other suppliers are often facing a down turn in these recessionary days, each year I have been working I am receiving more and more bookings and will enjoy my most successful year this year.

Hi Christine! My Facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/StylishO. I make sure to post on my page at least once a day, if not more. I post anything from what current clients are doing, pictures of real weddings, to tips for wedding planning as well as trends and more. This keeps my name in front of clients and potential clients/referral sources daily. I have gotten referrals thanks to my posts. Also, a lot of my clients live out of state from where I am. So I always send them a friend request so that they can get to know me and I can get to know them. That's especially important when I may never meet the client until closer to their wedding date. I'll often tell them to "friend" me before they book me just so they can get to know me a little bit more. I think that has made a big difference and I find the majority of those clients do book me!

We have been using Facebook as a marketing tool for the last three years and I would say over 50% of our work has come from this media. Couples have viewed our work and of course personal recommendation from those who have booked you from Facebook their friends & family can see what work you produce

We have also picked up work for pet photography and over the last twelve months our commercial work has also increased from recommendations and Facebook.

Its a worthwhile tool and most of all its free

Facebook page - www.facebook.com/blushnotes

Over the past couples years on Facebook I've tried a number of different marketing activities. Contests are great and increase fans as well as overall activity. But I find that it's often short lived. I've found that smaller giveaways work best. One giveaway every few months helps keeps fans constantly engaged. My fans also like seeing what up to on a daily basis. They like know when I've got a new client or seeing seal peeks of invitations that I'm working on. I also like sharing the couples love story with them from my website. They like to feel like they're a part of the family. Ive also had a lot of success promoting my Etsy shop through my Facebook page.
A lot of brides are confused about the invitation process and are unsure of what to send out and what time to send things out. Every month I post a note letting them know what they should be doing depending on their wedding date. Information and engagement is what they seem to like best :)

I've found that my Facebook likes have increased. I've also found that my referrals have increasd tremendously. A lot of brides who book their invitations with me, found me on Facebook.

Hi Christine,

Wow - some great stories about using Facebook.  Glad to see small businesses finding value in the platform.  We've found Facebook to be a great platform as well.  Now for your specific questions:

1. Fan Page Address:

https://www.facebook.com/pinkcakebox

2. What type of marketing activities worked for you on Facebook?

As a bakery with a visually appealing product, our strategy has been to integrate our website into our facebook fan experience to ensure fans of our facebook page can experience our content and interact with it.  We have three facebook applications integrated into our timeline:

Testimonials - This pulls from our website as well and displays all our testimonials.  It's updated everytime we had a new testimonial on our website

Contests - Integration of our content platform with Facebook

Portfolio - This displays all of our cakes, cupcakes & cookie and is updated each time we add new confection

Each of these applications serve as a funnel back to our website where the goal is to get them to come back to www.pinkcakebox.com and follow-through with one of our conversation goals.

We've also work to make sure our wall is interactive and fresh with content.  Each week we post cakes, videos and insideshots at the bakery to connect with our fans.

Lastly, we make sure our website also integrates back with Facebook - this is primarily done by encouraging users to share our cakes with their friends on facebook.

3. Exactly what results did you see?

We track all referrals from facebook along our key conversion goals (email signup, order request, etc).  Facebook is one of our top 5 referrals.  Conversion rate is lower then most sources, but due to the sheer volume of the referrals the low conversion rate is offset.

In addition, exposure through facebook is phenomenal.  With 30,000+ fans we have such a great reach.  In addition, users on our website are very active with sharing our work on facebook.  Last month we had over 500 shares - as a small business this is fantastic exposure!

Thanks!

Jesse

Our facebook page is www.facebook.com/hawaiiweddingsandevents

We first started using Facebook as it was easier to upload pictures than having to downsize for wedding websites or for our ow website.  The added advantage is that everyone sees when you post new pictures.

We post something every day, whether it is a picture from our last event, sample under $25 centerpiece ideas, excerpts from latest reviews, trends, inspirations, motivational items, tips and links to our blog.    We still keep in touch with past brides who are our biggest advocates and our future brides like to see pictures to get ideas, enjoy seeing the different events we are working on and we also use it for prospective brides to scroll through our photo galleries to see different venues.

We tried Facebook ads but really didn't get any direct hits from that as we had a "mention Facebook" note and nobody responded to that.  We do love posting links/specials, etc. on our page as well as some other "venue" pages that have been set-up in our area.

I have a seriously successful time on Facebook - much more-so than Twitter. I have a wide circle if friends from all over the world, and every few months (not every few weeks so as not to make people tired of it) I ask my family and friends to simply post my link (website or Facebook page) on their status for an hour or so. I have seen amazing results from this. I have booked 2 weddings directly through this strategy, and many enquiries have been generated referencing translation services and the like. All of my brides that are on Facebook Have become friends with Kosweddings, have joined the group that we created, and regularly comment on my page posts. I have seen many couples re-visit our island (Kos, Greece) for subsequent holidays and they always, without fail, pay us a visit. It is a very rewarding job, and even more so if you can remaIn good friends with your clients. Our Facebook page is called kosweddings, and so is our group. For some reason Facebook changed the page name to kardamena, which is the Kos village in which we have our office, but it still goes to the page from www.Facebook.com/kosweddings. I would reccommend to anyone, very highly, to use Facebook marketing. It is a very useful and successful tool.

Hello Bridal Tweet Family,

We absolutely love Facebook and really feel it is a great social media platform. Our Facebook page address is www.facebook.com/myweddeal

Being one the newest wedding resources that connects engaged couples to our handpicked wedding vendors both locally and nationally we knew the importance of an active Facebook community. We have done everything from running Facebook pay per click ads which are great as long as you know how to set them up and keep your cost under .25 cents per click. We have done all sorts of campaigns and giveaways, ranging from a free wedding DJ package, Kindle Fire, Amazon gift cards and Burke Williams Spa. We know how stressful planning a wedding can sometimes be so we love finding ways that allow us to give back to our wedding community.

To celebrate our February 6th launch of our website we held a red carpet event at the BrideWorld Expo where engaged brides had a chance to have their picture taken on the red carpet. The photos were then posted on Facebook and brides had to go to our Facebook page and tag their photos. Whoever had the most likes won a gift card to Burke Williams Spa. Two things that were great about this was the amount of traffic and activity that we received for that week but also the winners decided to pay-it-forward by getting their grandmother and mother spa treatments to celebrate International Woman's Day.

We use facebook to post our weekly deals and highlight the vendors that we are featuring for that week on our site www.myweddeal.com,  daiily blog at blog.myweddeal.com, wedding dresses from our Tumblr blog at www.myweddeal.tumblr.com (which by the way we get great responses from) and our wedding sketch comedy videos from our Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/myweddeal.

Anyways, I could go on and on talking about our love for facebook But as a result in the course of two months we were able to build over 2300 fans and have sold various vendor deals through the Facebook platform. Also to show our love for Facebook and to coincide with the new Timeline we will be giving away two AMC movie tickets to any couples who purchase the deal on March 26th. We are also excied to unveil our new facebook wall cover that day:)

Cheers,
