kids table

info@wedbykez.comwww.wedbykez.comGosh my brides are smart! At a wedding rehearsal recently I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the reception room and, apart from being gorgeously decorated, I saw a very smart idea. The table for the little ones was placed right at the front and each setting had a pencil case with the child's name filled with coloured pencils and a colouring in book (age and sex appropriate). To top off the amazing organisation of this bride, each of the parents were placed at tables directly near their child. So they could enjoy some adult company but be close enough to put out any fires if need be.There is no need to freak out about kids at a wedding, you just need to plan smart and allow them to be kids. If they are having fun, their parents will be having fun, and you'll be a stress-free bride. Everybody wins.Got a great idea for a kids table? let us knowSee More

up in the air

www.wedbykez.comKez is a young modern marriage celebrantinfo@wedbykez.comSo you've decided to make your walk down the aisle a bit "wow" with confetti and you've come across a big stumbling block. A confetti ban.Believe it or not such bans do exist and while we love a happy bride you can understand there are certain factors, not the less environmental ones, that mean a venue would consider denying you a confetti filled exit.(If you are still not convinced and think your venue should allow confetti take a whole punch and a ream of paper. Punch out a million little circles, dump them on your living room floor, do a few rounds of zumba, then try and vaccum the pieces up.)So, what to do?Cry, obviously. It's not going to change anything but it might make you feel a little better. Then get the thinking cap out and come up with another way to make a splash.BubblesHarmless and stylish and also very fun.Eco Friendly ConfettiIt does exist and breaks down in 24-48 hours. And there is no danger to any little animal friends so it is great for outdoors.Roses or PetalsObviously biodegradable but also VERY stainable. Be cautious with this option.RiceNot to be thrown too hard... OUCH!Or check out this link from Burke's Backyard which gives you the original versionHave you come across a ban that you thought was unreasonable? Leave a comment below.See More

digital save the dates

info@wedbykez.comwww.wedbykez.comKez is a young marriage celebrant based in NewcastleMy girlfriend found Digitives when looking for a birth announcement card for her little one.The idea is simple, cost effective and a great alternative if the budget doesn't allow for the cost of having them made through an invitation business or you can't spare the time to get crazy with the craft glue and paper cutters.Basically, you provide an image of you and your loved one which is inserted into the design. (Of course you can pay for the personalised design to go with your colour scheme). The image and text are provided back to you as a proof and once approved the final digitives are sent to you on either photo paper or card stock. If you have the at home software (any photo publishing / editing software) you might even be able to create the photo save the date and save it onto a disc or USB. It is then just a quick trip to your local photo shop, KMart or Officeworks to have them printed and hey presto! You have your save the date.If you like the idea, you can always use this in your theme and create your wedding invites, placecards and thankyous including a photo.Get googling to find businesses that offer the photo save the dates... and I'll show you in a future blog how to make one using Adobe Photoshop.(Remember if you are using a photo from a professional photographer you may need permission to priSee More

secret spending

info@wedbykez.com www.wedbykez.comKez is a young marriage celebrant based in Newcastle 80% of married couples may hide purchases and spending from their partners according to a 2010 survey by CESI Debt Solutions. This article from CNN Money suggests that not telling your partner where and what you are spending your money on could lead to bigger problems later on. Aside from the extremes of addictions, those "little white lies" could deepen into larger issues about values. What were to happen if one of your were spending large sums of money on luxury items while the other was sacrificing every cent to make sure the bills were paid? You can easily see how an xbox game or a new dress every now and again could snowball into a bigger problem. Not to mention that money is one of the major concerns of any married couple - talking about it at the best of times is always hard.read more hereSee More

all about you outdoor weddings

info@wedbykez.comwww.wedbykez.comKez is a young marriage celebrant based in NewcastleOne of the great things about being a marriage celebrant is that I am always being introduced to new businesses around town. If hubby and I ever decided to do a renewal I would literally be spoilt for choice.Over the weekend I performed a ceremony at Coon Island, Swansea (A new discovery in itself and one that I will blog on later this week...) and arrived to a stunning set-up of bamboo pavillian and chairs that were just perfect for a wedding by the water.read more hereSee More

make an entrance on your wedding day

www.wedbykez.comKez is a young marriage celebrant based in Newcastle Australiainfo@wedbykez.comFirst impressions count right? I mean, you don't step into a job interview with your pluggers and favourite trackies on so why shouldn't you make a splash when it comes to transport on your wedding day. It is quite possibly the biggest "look at me" moment of your life so there are some advantages to blowing the budget on your choice of chariot. If you're not really the traditional "limo" type then maybe the below pictures might offer some inspiration...Read more hereSee More

A little about yourself and what you have to offer this wedding community?
Wedbykez.com is the brain child of a bride that wanted a website to create, inspire and entertain throughout the hours of “googling” for the perfect wedding dress, venue, flowers etc.
As a marriage celebrant I wanted to be connected to both people in the know as well as brides in the Newcastle, Central Coast and Hunter Valley for my own sanity as well as for support and idea sharing when planning my wedding.
Wedbykez.com is about celebrating Individuality and creativity in Marriage – standing up and announcing to the world “I may match my napkins to my invites but I might also serve Pina Coladas at my wedding”

Wedbykez.com – it’s your wedding – your way
