About the Venue

I love California. From Arcata to Coronado, I can't imagine a more spectacular location for hosting your wedding celebration. Recently, the cool weather here in the Bay Area has made me long for the warm, sunny weather more common to those that live in California's south land. Aaron Delesieis a well-known wedding photographer and his stomping grounds include the San Diego and SoCal Beach communities. We were so excited to receive this wonderful wedding celebration because not only is his photography incredible and the design team has taken this one over the top, we also got to share this totally amazing location with you.

From the opulent Old World styling of The Grand Del Mar, you'd never imagine it is only a few years old. This incredible $300 million resort, which finds itself nestled in the canyons near Del Mar, has all the exquisite detail one associates with Hollywood glamor of the 1920s. As the tuxedo'd service staff circulates glasses filled with golden bubbles and women are striking a pose in sleek full length gowns - your mind will immediately be filled with visions of a party hosted in a bygone era. Bogie and Bacall can be easily imagined here.

The architecture is incredible. Every archway, every column, every detail brings to mind Addison Mizner's and Julia Morgan's influence. They were the team who married Spanish and Moorish elements with a color palette of gold and terracotta with bright pops of cobalt blue and emerald green. Simply gorgeous!
