I have been in the wedding photography business for 3 years now - and even in that short space of time have had some, well let's say strange, experiences! I thought it might be fun and informative to kick off a discussion along these lines and share some of them with each other! I'm sure we can learn from this.

To get the ball rolling - I shot one wedding and in a very short space of time, the groom was charged with attempted murder of the bride!

Did they come and arrest him at the wedding venue? or What?
Hi Mickey - no, I only found out about 6 weeks after the wedding when I went to deliver their wedding album! I couldn't believe it. I thought he was a nice guy! Just shows how wrong you can be...
I played for a wedding in which the ring bearer was the bride's horse. The couple got married in a beautiful forest preserve where the horse was boarded. When the reception came, they pulled apart the velcro sides of the wedding reception tent and the horse's head popped through so when they took photos of the head table the horse would be included. The horse was in every photo they took.
I have a similar story. Years ago, we did a medieval-style scavenger hunt DURING the reception for the guests. The whole affair was tacky, from the (much younger) bride and (way older) groom wanting to get married suspended from parasails (nixed due to bad weather) to the Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and Rod Stewart impersonators.

Found out a few months later that the new Mrs. was accused of trying to off the ex-Mrs. and that's why they had to have their wedding in FL...too much scandal and press where they lived :-)
