Think about the final product, and not just a piece of plastic

I frequently get asked by potential wedding clients, “Do I get a cd/dvd of the images from the wedding?” The answer of course is yes. Unfortunately it saddens me to think that more often than not, once the final cd is delivered to the customer, that it will have a short-lived run to the Big Box store for a few prints for the family and that will be about it. The media will sit in the office desk or dresser drawer for the most part unused, or the pictures will be on the customer’s hard drive…

Pay the pro, or use Uncle Harry

Most families spend THOUSANDS of dollars just for the venue, church and food for a wedding and reception. Not to mention the dress, flowers, and the many many other details involved in planning a wedding.

 

So you have spent up most of your wedding budget (or planned most of it) on everything previously mentioned EXCEPT the one component that will be around after all of the food has been eaten, the wedding dress no longer fits, and the flowers have died eons…

Photographer observations from the other side, and some food for thought

Over the years I have had the honor of being hired as the photographer for many a couple’s wedding- both young and old. Recently, my family and I attended the wedding of a relative as guests. Such a relaxing change from my vantage point! I got to sit out in the audience as the observer and watch everything happen, instead of working!
