I had to post a very sad and disturbing message on my blog this morning. Someone is using my business name and email to send pornography, to scam legitimate sites and to retard my prospective clients from getting to me. Please spread the word and share your stories if you have had this happen to you. There are really wicked people out there and they need to be stopped!

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope that you will be able to put a stop to it. Any way you could trace the person doing this?
Wendy, that's outrageous. You might want to look online or get an attorney to help you send a 'cease and desist' letter to the offender, as well as contact their hosting company to get them shut down. Last year, I faced a similar challenge when someone started 'scraping' all the content from my marriage blog for their own use. don't let this keep you from sharing your message. Fight back.
If I knew who was doing it I would try to have them shut down. But, I don't. That is what is making it so frustrating. I feel it is someone I know, as some of the fake names, etc are familiar to me. But, I haven't been able to track it down yet. I do feel it is hurting my business. Anyway, thanks for the support! I appreciate it.
Can you search the site for hosting info? Have you googled to see what help is available. It might be worthwile to add a common license so people know you're protecting your copyright.
I am so sorry to hear this, I hate to say this, but you can track them down, if you have a copy of the orginal email thing that was sent, and later when I get back , I will email you through the email on your blog, Something like this happened to another vendor recently, and it was tracked back to a vendor...
