Hi everyone.  I am a planner and have my own business.  Doing well and have a fantastic mentor.  I am interested in getting additional education and have heard of certain online courses/certifications.  Anyone have a feeling one way or the other on the best and also those to stay away from?

The one that has been recommended and also I see mentioned in many places is the Penn Foster training.

Thanks!

Robbie

I went to QC School of Wedding, they have a great reputation. You can also take their courses online
There are a lot of certification programs out there too. After much research, I joined the Association of Bridal Consultants and have been pleased with their wedding classes. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
Thank you both for your comments.
I think it's best to go with the recognized association in your country. For America that would be The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC). I'm in Canada so I received my certification through the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada, which is the only wedding certification program in Canada that is sanctioned by the government here. They also certify planners all over the world. There are lots of courses and so called "certifications" out there; but unless the program is sanctioned by the government and/or the recognized governing body for your profession then it's a bit questionable. ABC is a great organization with a great international reputation.
