Hello Everyone,

I have been a bridal planner for 1 year, and I am having some trouble with one couple. All of my couples are wonderful to work with, but this particular couple is not wanting to cooperate with me at all. During the planning process, they did not want me involved, even though that is what they hired me to do.

Since I am a new planner, I gave them a lower promotional price in exchange for a testimonial when the wedding was completed. It has been a month since the wedding and everything went smoothly. I have emailed both of them asking for the referral, but they will not respond. I hate to be pushy, but that was a condition of the contract and I would not have given them such a low price if I was not going to receive a testimonial in exchange. What should I do because I have the contract signed by both of them saying they will do this, but I cannot get in touch with either of them?

I'm having the same trouble. My referral was not contractual, but I've tried to contact the couple by phone and email to get feedback from the event. The only thing I can say is that after my own wedding, I was SUPER busy. Maybe you could gently remind them that it is part of the contract and maybe even provide a template or questionairre that they could quickly fill out for you. Good luck.
I would write them a letter requesting the Testimonial, which is part of the contract they signed and send it Registered Mail with a signature required so you will have Proof they recieved your letter. I would be polite and direct. If they paid you for your services and they were difficult to work with, I would just let it go as a learning experience and move on....some Customers it's better to let them go and concentrate on building your business with nice, reliable customers who appreciate you! In the meantime, try to evaluate a way how you can get your Testimonials for your services. Good luck!
