When choosing logo items for your business, what's the best choice? Pens, shirts mugs I'm looking for input before my next order. I've tried a few different thing so far, but am not convinced either was better than the other. Just wondering what other planners think is effective.

I think pens, TShirts etc are very popular (and less expensive) but people like to receive things that are different yet practical. Cute pens work! Calendars work for the sender as customers and prospective customers keep them on their desks and are reminded of the products and services offered - that is what i will do this Christmas. I think they like mouse pads, and for the more expensive gifts - umbrellas, portfolios etc.
It's best to think of a promo item that fits with what your company has to offer. For example: if your a Tuxedo company; cuffs with your name on them would be great or mini shoe horn if you are a retailer that sells foot wear.
Pens work for some and t-shirts work for others. It all depends on the image and lasting impression you would like to have on your clients.
Are you trying to figure out what might be a good item to give to prospective clients for your business as a wedding planner? Personally, I am not a big fan of trinkets but if I were to choose to give something away, perhaps a customized votive candle holder, something pretty and outside the norm.
