Take your guests preferences into consideration when planning music for your reception

RSVP cards can do more than assist you in determining a head count for your wedding and reception.  They can double to promote the dance party.  Designate a space on the card whereby your guests can request a song they would like to dance to.  This gesture sends a message to your guests that you wish to include them in a fun night of dancing by taking their music tastes into consideration.  The more encompassing you are willing to be with the music, the greater the likelihood your guests…

If you secure a DJ, ensure that your tastes will be accommodated

Seems obvious, but must be stated given the fact that rolling out the right beats is a critical fun factor at the reception and is what drives guests to the dance floor.  You do not want to observe an empty dance floor, if, for example, the Chicken Dance were to be played.  It is highly recommended you talk to your DJ about your do-not-play list.  When consulting with your DJ, discuss your favorite genres, know your guests and discuss whether or not they will be permitted to make…

Keep toasts short and to the point (prep them in advance)
