A bride’s hair really should be her crowning glory on her wedding day.  When you’re planning your wedding, make sure you get plenty of bridal hair ideas to discuss with your stylist before your big day.  You might decide on a wedding updo, or you might be looking for hair styles for short or long wedding hair.  Of course, a lot depends on the wedding dress you ultimately choose and your wedding day ‘look’.

Wedding Hair Tips from Michael Van Clarke Bridal Team

  • Book your hairdresser and make-up artist early.  You’ll be amazed how many people are planning to get married on the same day as you. If possible book your wedding hairdresser and makeup artist for the whole day so that they are on hand for the photographs and possibly a change of look for the evening.
  • Have a minimum of one trial with your wedding hairdresser and make up artist at least a month before the big day.  Take with you pictures of wedding hair looks and styles that you like and dislike, a picture of your wedding dress and if possible your bridal veil and headdress.
  • You may wish to experiment with hairpieces, extensions or bridal accessories.  Your hair and make up should reflect your personality on your wedding day to ensure you feel comfortable with the overall look.
  • Have digital photographs taken at the trial session to look over afterwards.
  • Book your hair cut and colour two weeks before your wedding, not during the final few days.
