One of the easiest ways to save money is one of the oldest ideas - do it yourself. However, before you decide to tackle not just planning your wedding by creating and arranging all of the items that go into you should be aware of a few things:

1. You will need additional time before your wedding so make sure you have at least 6-9 months before your wedding.

2. You will need extra space to store all of the things you will have to purchase, as well as space to craft and create.

3. You will need friends, family or a hands-on coordinator to help you with the items that can only be done in the last 48 hours.

4. Everything may not turn out exactly like you envisioned. Some people are not skilled at making decorations, arranging flowers, crafting invitations, AND catering food. Know your weaknesses and enlist friends and family to help on those projects.

5. You will need to pick a location that allows plenty of time for all of these items to be set-up and torn down.

6. You will need to become very organized and good at planning everything that will need to be finished before the wedding.

7. You will need to be able to research vendors, websites, products etc to find the supplies and resources that you will need.

Being a DIY brides is an exciting way to be involved in you wedding and to be able to put your own personal touch on your wedding.
