Hi All,

I am trying to honor some family members who are not in our wedding party with special readings during our ceremony- does anyone have any suggestions of passages to read during the wedding?

Thanks!

My first thought on this is "are they good speakers?" If not, you do not want them to speak at your wedding, no matter how much their feelings got hurt by not being in the wedding party. You do not want them speaking at your wedding and potentially ruining that segment of your wedding video. Throwing a few verses around here and there about everlasting love to appease a few disgruntled friends or family members comes across as just that, if they are not really offering something substantial to the ceremony or your moment it shows. A few well written verses will not solve the underlying issues and it certainly will not add anything beneficial to your special day.

If you are still insistent upon adding this to your ceremony, I do have a few that you may consider. Remember, this also adds to the length of the ceremony itself, potentially cutting into your reception time if you are on a time constraint. Best of luck and congratulations on your engagement.
