Being a wedding writer and coordinator, I have seen some gorgeous weddings! If you want a true southern wedding venue you will need to do some searching. You want something that is both simple, but luxurious to achieve this. For example, Atlanta wedding venues, locations in Savannah, Georgia and several posh venues in Dallas, Texas have been voted by several sites as the best areas to get married in and offer the perfect balance of simple and elegant. There are some things to consider in addition to this, however, to ensure that the venue will work perfectly for your special day.

Will they all Fit?

As you are looking at different wedding venues you need to keep in mind how many people will be attending your wedding. For example, if your wedding is small then the basement of the church you get married in could work. On the other hand, if you have a large wedding then your actual wedding venue and your reception venue will be in different places. You will want to look at hotels, halls and other places that host weddings.

Does it Accommodate all of Your Needs?

Your wedding will likely include an area to eat, an area to drink and an area to dance and mingle. You need to make sure that there is adequate room for all of this at your venue. Keep in mind how many guests you will have and try to imagine how the ceremony will be set up. Think about whether or not everyone will fit on the dance floor. If this is all not possible, then you will need to look for a larger location.

Will this be too Open or Private?

When you are looking at venues you want your party to be able to have privacy. You do not want random people wandering through or allow for the ability for people to crash your big day. If you are using a hotel, for example, can doors be closed so that the ballroom is private and to keep your music inside the ballroom and not filtering to other guest rooms? These are important to ask because you want to ensure that your guests have a good time and are not bothered by those outside of the wedding.

Will it Work with Your Décor?

If you plan to have a wedding that is purple, white and silver, but the walls of the venue are gold and pink then this will clash with your scheme unless you able to put out the cash to drape the walls in fabric. This is something that is often overlooked. Find something that can work with the décor that you are planning for your big day.
