DIY Wedding: Tips to Make all Your Fun Fit under One Budget

Have you been thinking about your upcoming wedding, but all you see are price tags at every turn? With the average wedding costing around $20,000, it's no wonder that brides and grooms today are in a panic for cheaper options. Not everybody can afford to have the wedding of their dreams. You can, however, have a fantastic do-it-yourself wedding that will make you and your budget happy for a lifetime.

Naturalize It
One huge cost couples often run into is renting a facility to hold their wedding. Here's a little secret: you don't need to rent an expensive venue for your wedding. All you need is nature. There are tons of natural spots such as the beach, a forest, a mountain top, a nice park, your back yard, etc. You will have to check to see if you need a permit or to pay a small fee, but many times you can save yourself thousands of dollars by just holding your wedding in an outdoor setting. One inexpensive option if you have many guests is to spend venue money on simply renting tables and chairs. Places like Party People Rentals & Sales make this easy, and can save couples tons of money. Outdoor weddings also mean decorations will be minimal, and can often be homemade.

Make Use of Family and Friends
Another cost that will take you over the edge is hiring a DJ and a photographer. These are two services you can easily find a family member or a friend to do for you. With the availability of music these days, you can put together a perfectly crafted playlist of songs, or just leave it up the person you ask to play what he or she feels is best. Many people own professional grade cameras, so all you have to do is ask around for a favor. Family or friends may not mind being the DJ or photographer, as that can be their wedding present to you.

Wedding Attire
There are many low-cost options for wedding dresses and tuxedos. You can find new dresses and tuxedos for under $100 at places like David's Bridal. You can also shop around for gently used wedding attire. If you have bride's maids and are feeling the pressure to buy them all dresses, just don't worry about it. Have them all wear whatever they choose and save you hundreds of dollars.

As you can see, there are multiple ways to cut down on wedding expenses. You can eliminate the desire to rent a facility, hire a DJ and photographer, and even find low cost wedding dresses and tuxedos. You can still have a dream wedding and save money by just switching up these few items.
