Don't Forget These Wedding Planning Steps!

Your wedding day is going to be one of the most amazing days of your life, and you no doubt are feeling a lot of pressure to make everything go perfectly. Well, that’s not likely to happen. But it’s not because you aren’t thorough. It’s just that unexpected things happen sometimes. The weather might decide not to cooperate. There might be more traffic than expected. That one uncle might show up after all—you know the one!

But it’s okay. You’ll be fine, and your wedding will be imperfectly perfect and totally worth it—as most weddings are. But to help prevent any avoidable problems, make sure to add the following four wedding planning steps to your checklist.

Include the Bride and Groom in the Headcount

Don’t laugh. Sometimes the bride and groom forget to add themselves to the headcount when reserving the venue and planning meals and drinks. Nobody’s going to let you starve at your own wedding, but it’s still a good idea to double-check and make sure that you include yourselves ahead of time.

Paperwork

With all the hustle and bustle in the days leading up to the wedding, it is easy to forget some of the more minute details such as the wedding license and supplemental documents, your passports, airline tickets and itinerary and other similar forms of paperwork. If you are heading straight out on your honeymoon from the wedding location, all of your travel documents need to be sorted and packed into your luggage beforehand to avoid any problems at the airport.

Meals for Your Hired Help

You and your guests aren’t the only people who will be in attendance on your big day. There will also be several other mouths to feed who are often forgotten. These would include the musicians, photographers, videographers, DJ, hair and makeup stylists and the minister. You might have some other vendors there as well, so be sure to accommodate them too. When giving your headcount to the caterer in advance, ask if there are discounts for vendor meals.

Portable Toilets for Outdoor Weddings

For those of you who are planning an outdoor wedding at a private outside venue, such as a family member’s home, in a barn at a local farm or even out in the woods or in a meadow, it is imperative that there are sufficient restroom facilities to accommodate your guests. For a small wedding, a couple of portables will do. But for a larger event, you will need a portable toilet hire with larger capacity, such as a portable restroom trailer with multiple toilets and sinks for both men and women. These may need to be reserved well in advance, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Planning your wedding well in advance and attending to every detail will help ease your mind as the day finally approaches. Follow these four wedding tips to ensure your wedding day goes as smoothly as possible.
