Well I havent played the playing Pet Shop Boys in years now I'm going to think twice ....Watch out for Rick Astley LOL... Whats next a bar fight because the champagne's flat. OMG
If it was just a matter of taste, that would be one thing--I've heard a lot of reception music I thought was awful, but I didn't punch anybody.
This incident was about enforcement of cultural norms, which in this case had to do with suppressing the expression of women. There's a lot of enforcement of cultural norms around weddings and marriage here in the U.S. too, but at least it hasn't become violent...too often.
That being said, next time I hear "The Humpty Dance" at a wedding I may take a poke at mobile entertainment person responsible. :)
Ya I hear you! Although I don't recall the last time I played that song at a wedding, I will keep that in the back of my mind and make sure it's played no time soon :-)
