Here are some things to look for when choosing a florist:

1. How do they deliver their flowers? If they do not deliver their bouquets in a vase with water, then walk. They clearly will be delivering flowers that will have been out of the water for quite some time. There is no excuse for this. By night's end, your bouquets will need to be thrown away - not so good if you would like to keep them a few days or preserve them.

2. When you ask them for flower choices, do they flounder for names and ideas or do they have books and flower-name cards that you can look through? A good florist wants your bouquet to be everything that you envision with a little creativity thrown in.
3. Do they have references? Don't be afraid to ask.
4. Do they have pictures of some of their work?

5. Do they act professional? Ask you all the right questions? Care about what you want?

6. If you are asking for something slightly different or a tad more difficult, are they willing to take on the project with confidence?
Finding a florist that you trust, is honest, and loves their profession is very important to ensure your wedding day success.

Some additional questions you might want to ask are:

How many weddings will you have that weekend?
When will my flowers be assembled?
How many people are between the original contact and the finished product being delivered? Salesperson, flower orderer, warehouose staff, designers, delivery person? Will all persons have access to the detailed notes you have taken?(We all know what happens when you play "Telephone".)
If something is forgotten or broken when it arrives what are my options for "fixing" things immediately?

If you work with a wedding mill type of business it's very important to ask these questions and make sure you have answers in writing. You may save a little money, but will you have peace of mind?

Best Wishes!

Will someone call me in the days before the wedding with any substitutions and to make sure

Great advice!

Im a florist and those are very similar quesitons to the ones I tell my brides to ask other florist if they are getting several quotes! Brides should not be afraid to ask questions. its crutial to hire a florist that you trust and will deliver all they promised on the day of the wedding.

Best wishes,

Luna Salomon
