Flowers are going to be an integral part of your wedding reception. You would need flowers for the bridal bouquet, boutonnieres for the groom, groomsmen and fathers, corsages for the mothers, flowers for the ceremony site, and centerpieces for the reception tables. They are going to appear in most of the wedding photographs and would create the right ambience for celebrating such a special day of your life. No wonder it requires a lot of attention for selecting the wedding flowers.

Here are some tips to help you select flowers for your wedding.

Decide your budget. How much can you afford to spend on flowers and wedding décor? Do not hesitate if you can’t afford too much. There are florists who have affordable wedding flowers. They can work within your budget to give you the best possible options.

Be ready with the figures. Your florist would need to know how many guests you are inviting to determine the quantity, and eventually the price of the flowers.

What is your personal style or preference? Do you want your wedding to be simple or extravagant? Have you any photographs or ideas of how you want things to come out? Show it to the florist to let him know what you are expecting.

Have a color scheme. It is always better to have a color scheme and then work around it. You can incorporate the color in the floral designs, in bridesmaids dresses, in the interior of the reception hall, and at other places to achieve a sense of uniformity.

It is advisable to choose flowers that are in season. If you choose seasonal flowers, you can rest assured that they would be fresh and you can also save your money. If you are getting married in spring, choose hyacinth, tulip, daffodil, sweet pea, lily of the valley, and peony. For summer weddings, sunflower, zinnia, cosmos, hydrangea, snapdragon, and cornflower are ideal. For fall weddings, there are calla lily, cranberry, celosia, dahlia, and bittersweet. French tulip, amaryllis, hypericum, and quince make the best flower choices for winter weddings.

When booking the florist, finalize everything in terms of the flower types, their color, style, composition, and quantity. There are online florists that offer wedding flowers and provide delivery of wedding flowers. Consider them if you are not able to find your favorite flowers locally.

Do sign a contract with the florist and read all the terms and conditions to rest assured that you get what you had asked for.

All the best for your wedding. Have a beautiful and memorable wedding reception.
