How to Show a Slideshow at a Wedding

DVDPhotographs.com has years of experience in creating and playing wedding slideshows at receptions and other special events. Here are some tips we have developed to help make sure your event runs as smooth as possible.

If you are creating a video montage photo slideshow that you would like to show at a wedding reception, party, or other special event there are a variety of ways that you can display your video to your guests. A little preplanning can go along way in ensuring that your presentation is successful and your guests enjoy the slideshow.

Step 1: Determine How You Want to Display the Slideshow

There are a couple of different ways in which you can show the slideshow at your event.

Option A: Projector
Have everyone view the slideshow at the same time. If you are having an event with over 25 people the best way to do this is to project the slideshow onto a screen or a light colored wall through a projector

Option B: TV
Have the slideshow playing off to the side or in a corner of the room during the event. This allows people to casually mingle and watch the whole slideshow in it's entirety or just bits of pieces. If you plan on displaying the slideshow this way it is advisable to have your slideshow authored on a DVD so that it continuously loops over and over. If you are planning on showing your slideshow this way you may be able to just use a TV.

Step 2: Determine What Equipment You Will Need for your Slideshow

What you decide in Step 1 will dictate exactly what equipment you will need for your slideshow. If you are going to display the slideshow to the guests all at the same time you will want to secure the following equipment:

• LCD Projector & Cables

• Screen (or have a light colored or white all to project onto)

• DVD Player or laptop computer that can play DVD

• Speakers/Sound – If you are going to play the DVD through a laptop computer one option is to hook up external PC Speakers to the computer to run the sound. If you happen to have a DJ at your event or the party venue has house sound you should be able to run the audio from the DVD player into the DJ's speakers or the house sound system. Be sure to ask first!

If you are have decided that you would like to have your video montage loop continuously throughout the event you can just hook up a standard television with a DVD player and set the DVD player to loop.

Step 3: Test in Advance!

We can not stress how important it is to test all your equipment and connections before the big day. There is nothing worse than scrambling in front of a 100 people trying to figure out how to set up equipment. At least the day before your event make sure you have hooked up all the equipment and played your slideshow

Good to know! How much would a LCD Projector cost? One that hooks up to your computer or, have used one before, but I forgot the name or brand of it. you put the cd in the drive and it projects on the wall ,small in size almost like a computer...I like those... I also used it to project images on a wall and then I painted the wall with that image..
