Summary

The key to having an exceptional wedding celebration at a rustic wedding venue that offers minimal structure is to hire a great team. Kunde Estate's Boothill is probably one of the most memorable wedding venues in the Wine Country. The setting is high on a hillside so you have a completely different perspective with panoramic views of the valley floor and the surrounding mountain ranges. There are few other locations that offer this unique setting.

Our own Alicia Falango of Alicia K. Designs partnered with the wonderfully talented Jessamyn Harris and Paige Green to bring us this remarkable celebration. Alicia's style is so refreshing - she incorporates the personality of her clients into every detail of the event.

Alicia's comments:

This client wanted to embrace the natural beauty of Kunde's Wine Country Estate. The goal was to focus on certain key elements, allowing the design to speak for itself. They wanted to make a true wine country statement without the overall theme being too "winery."

The bride chose a subtle color palette comprised of aubergine, plum, and green. The couple completely embraced the natural rustic elements of their surroundings and chose the simplicity of "a branch" as their overall theme. The branch was used as a cohesive theme throughout the design. Beginning with their invitations, it set the tone for the guests and transitioned all the way down to the favors, table arrangements, and even the aisle runner.

Kunde Estate's Boothill has many options for your ceremony. This client decided to use the boughs of the ancient oak trees as a natural stage for the ceremony. I particularly loved the ceremony design. We created side runners down each aisle of chairs. The structure was made from a combination of branches intermixed with bright white phalaenopsis orchids. The contrast was amazing; it really popped and was such a unique element. We received so many compliments.

Cocktails were served immediately following the ceremony. We used a clearing and nestled a unique vignette into the hillside among the trees. When the guests moved into the dining area, they were greeted by a collection of large and small lanterns giving off a soft glow over the dining area.

We incorporated two unique designs for the arrangements used on the tables: half of the tables were adorned with floral arrangement featuring manzanita branches paired with orchids encased in a wooden box; the other design was a simple tablescape of candles and flowers. The couple had us personalize each place setting with a sprig of lavender and a tin of handmade lavender salt.

I love thinking outside the box and doing something unexpected. The setting is so wonderful; as you dine with a canopy of stars over your head, the last thing your guests would expect is to be treated to a montage of home movies starring the happy couple. After the feature presentation concluded, the guests enjoyed a fun evening of dancing and mingling under the starry night. When it was time for something sweet, they enjoyed a slice of traditional cake paired with a fire pit for s'mores - it was wonderful!
