I Do Venues: Ruby Hill Golf Club A Burst of Spring Color

Photography by: Chung Li Photography

Summary

The elements of style for a wedding celebration come in all colors. A decade ago, brides were still predominately using white with a small infusion of color here and there. Today's forward-thinking brides are incorporating colors, textures, and patterns into their wedding design with outstanding results.

I love how this elegant country club wedding at Ruby Hill Golf Course in Pleasonton has infused a bright shade of chartreuse green with a wonderful black scrolled graphic. This design strikes the perfect balance. You can see the many wonderful modern elements in the flowers, cake, and wishing tree. But old-world elegance can still be found in the collateral.

Ask the expert

When working with strong colors, the question is often where to start? There are so many different ways to incorporate color into your design, it's hard to find a starting point. If you are a budget-minded bride and you can picture yourself with a profusion of color on your table top - then I encourage you to start with your table linen.

The color and texture of the linen on the table will dominate the space. If you check out La Tavola and Napa Valley linens, you will find at least 30 different options in green alone. I encourage brides to start here because in the long run it is more cost-efficient to use these tones as a color palette rather than trying to match a table linen to a random color from a swatch of fabric or a photo.
